Yea Kyle had about a 5 second lead at the end. I would have bet money that NASCAR would throw a caution flag with around 5 laps to go to bunch them back up, and give their boy Harvick a shot. Totally surprised.

But if Hamlin and Truex's crews hadn't screwed up, it would have been a tight race at the end. Truex seems to be a super nice guy, as does Hamlin. Hamlin gets extra points for going after Joey.
I was expecting a caution with about 15-20 laps left.

The fact that, despite having the most entry's every week, Chevrolet only had 5 cars make the chase and only 2 finished inside the top 10 (6th and 10th), just shows they still have a long way to go to be able to run with Toyota and Ford. Honestly if Johnson wants to have any shot at #8 he should go to Penske, SHR or Gibbs. Chevy is behind other manufacturers and it seems Hendrick is giving him the Jeff Gordon treatment since he is past his prime.

I’d say eventually he’ll get his own team going and manufacturers will throw money at him.

Would like to see some of the young blood challenge for the title next season and make a strong push for Phoenix to end the season. Usually I pull for the older guys but the only one who is a threat is Harvick in the + 40 crowd. It's getting old seeing a rotation of either Harvick, Busch, Truex, Hamlin, Logano or Keselowski most years. Wouldn't mind if Johnson made another run and leave on a high note. Old NASCAR days had a bigger variety of drivers who were a threat to win each week and found more guys had an opportunity to win races than these 'Super Teams' a concept that ruins sports period. Losing joy in sports period as everything is just getting way too predictable.

NASCAR is bringing in a good crop of Rookies with Christopher Bell, Cole Custer & Tyler Reddick. Reddick is going to be a lost cause in Richard Childress **** equipment. Read an article where Jimmy Makar in the JGR organization says the LFR #95 team's equipment will be on par with JGR's main 4 starting next season. Wish they put that emphasis in for Matt DiBenedetto this past year. He maximized his car's abilities and kept steadily improving as the season went on. Hell, he drove a ****** BK Racing car to a 6th place finish.

Johnson's past his prime, he needs to take a seat next to Dale jr. JJ had a great run, luckiest driver I've ever seen and he was really good too. During his run, no matter what happen to his car, some way Chad Knaus would not only fix it, but it would be faster! Amazing!

Drivers hang around to long. Was a big Dale sr. fan, he should have retired, would probably still be around.

The 3 won twice in 2000 and finished 2nd in points.

We will probably never see another combo like JJ and Chad. There are better drivers and better crew chiefs, but no combo will ever touch the magic they had.

Everyone says that but he is the same age as Harvick who is still winning though.

Points were different back then. Tony Stewart won 6 races in 2000 and finished sixth. Bobby Labonte won the Championship with 4 wins. Dale was 49 when he died, best days were behind him, I still loved watching him race, but I just don't like watching legends hang on.

Not totally disagreeing eky. Dale was obviously past his prime but was still competitive, especially on plate tracks. The last several laps of the 2000 fall Dega race is one of the best pieces of racing I’ve ever seen.

I selfishly wish he had hung them up so he’d still be with us, but can’t fault him for still wanting to be out there.
