Who is your pick to win the Daytona 500? My top 3 choices would be Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney with my dark horse being Austin Dillon. If I had to take 1 it would be Hamlin.
Hamlin seems like a safe bet I would go with or anyone out of the Penske stable with their success on the superspeedways. Chastain wouldn't shock me if he were to get it done like he did at Talladega in the spring.

Tyler Reddick has a couple of wins at Daytona in the Xfinity & Truck Series as well as Talladega. He is poised for a big year after winning 3 races in RCR equipment last year. RCR has improved but still being in JGR equipment with the 23XI technical alliance is a step up.

Hendrick will put all 4 cars in Top 6 of qualifying and then have an awful race again.

Blaney
McDowell
Keselowski

Are my 3 picks.

Anyone left in 1 piece after the big one once Wrecky Spinhouse gets through plowing up the field.

Preseason 4 - Elliott, Chastain, Logano & Hamlin. Can see this being the year Hamlin gets it done in a contract year. Not necessarily who I want obviously but a lot can happen between now and the playoffs.

Harvick is going to be one of the Championship 4. The other 3 will include HMS, JGR, and a surprise.

Larson, Elliott, Logano & Bell. I don't see old dogs like Harvick or Truex being there in the end with this next Gen car. Hamlin may be the only exception still at the top of his game. Harvick has had one foot in retirement's door since the conclusion of the 2020 season (his own words) if you watched his interview on Dale Jr Download and Truex likely joins him.

'Crappy ***' parts might ruin Harvick's feel good story lol

I’m so use to Daytona being 2 weeks after the Super Bowl that I didn’t realize this weekend was it until Monday night.

I miss Speedweeks where coverage used to be about a week long from the time the cars unloaded for the clash, full practice sessions, qualifying, the dual 125s then racing. Outside of the clash in early Feb now which is a nice appetizer before the real thing, the rest of it is crammed in half a week.

I do not recall the entire conversation but on Race Hub, Larry McReynolds told Jimmie Johnson Lap 1 on Daytona in your 1st year back at Daytona is in qualifying, Lap 2 is the Duels. I think the lack of practice in NASCAR cutting costs and **** over the last few years is ridiculous and certainly ruins the fan experience on any race weekend getting to enjoy 3-4 days at any track. Will miss those days going to the track and meeting the drivers, get a picture and an autograph with a pit pass.

Imagine being Travis Pastrana. I know he races rally, but guy hasn’t been in a NASCAR stock car since 2013 and never in a cup car.

Will be interesting to see how he does and if he is able to stay out of or not cause any trouble.

Happy for Almirola. All the more reason to get back to the old format of 'Speedweeks' to work these issues out in practice sessions before qualifying and practice sessions later on throughout the week. Multiple instances between the Cup and even Truck Series practice getting delayed today. Foolish idea to unload these cards without any track time before and the inexperienced drivers in the field.

I knew once those Fords got up there after the pit stop and the caution Larson would get shuffled back. Feel like Chase is due a Crown Jewel victory and no better time to get it done Sunday for his 1st 500.

Feel like after JG won in 05 he just struggled in the 500 and made poor decisions throughout the race. I feel the same for Chase. **** is so random now in the 500 with accidents and over aggression last 5 laps that it’s an absolute crapshoot.

Definitely. Would be okay with Elliott dropping back and letting the Big One happen, avoid being caught in that and increase his odds at the end like Hamlin does. Like you said the wrecks and aggressiveness pick up leading to Overtime sessions. Save his stuff with everyone beating their fenders off all race with 10 or less on the lead lap still.

Hamlin, Logano, Keselowski & Blaney seem to always be there at the end of the superspeedway race though Denny will intentionally drop all the way to the back. For a while, Hamlin & Newman would work together back there letting the chaos if the race take place and find themselves ending up with good finishes after the overexuberant ones like Stenhouse take out the contenders.

Did you see where Daniel Suarez was basically blaming Larson for wrecking Kyle? He said Larson had been bumping him so he just started bumping Kyle because of Larson. 😂

I'm not really buying this reasoning. To my knowledge, his power over Richard Petty Motorsports has been diminished significantly over time and nothing new since he brought in business partners Doug Bergeron & Andrew Murstein who basically told Kyle Petty there was no place for him anymore in the family's team abruptly leaving in the mid-2000s to go into broadcasting. Since then mergers with Evernham, GMS Racing and technical alliances with RCR . It's an organization that needs new blood in ownership with Johnson in his 40s with his money to help an underfunded team. They're no Rick Ware Racing or Spire Motorsports but certainly not Hendrick Motorsports. It's an organization that has been in decline since Richard's prime. Jimmie is great for this organization and I think this is the next team to watch out for.

Missed that crash due to these commercials but at least gave splitscreen. Why can't they do that the rest of the coverage? Chase involved dammit
