If Logano ends up winning the championship after being out of the top 8 and only getting in by Bowman being DQ'ed he is the luckiest man alive.
Yea. Same as making a car modification & hoping N-car doesn't notice or thinks it's OK. Shirt the rules as much as you can.For the record, I don’t blame Bell one iota. He had to try everything he could and see if it would stick.
Yep. If you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.Yea. Same as making a car modification & hoping N-car doesn't notice or thinks it's OK. Shirt the rules as much as you can.
I would not park Chastain, Dillon and Bubba for following team orders. There are no incentives for the individual drivers out of the playoffs. This is clearly coming from the manufactuers and owners who are benefiting unlike those 3 individually. The bigger message you can send would be punishing the owners/manufacturers. If you are going to park anyone, the ones who benefited (Byron/Bell) should be subject to being parked if that is how you go about punishing teams such as Truex getting booted from the Chase during the MWR **** in 2013. Parking a team with nothing to race for isn't going to accomplish anything. Bell knew what he did, the look was all over his face and why the team looked so subdued after the race knowing all along they could be subjected to this Hail Melon ruling. He did not hit the wall hard enough that would have prevented him from correcting his steering, back off the wall and chose to keep riding the wall. Like it or not, this is the rule. Someone tested how far they could go and found out NASCAR isn't going to tolerate it. Like funKYcat said, can't blame him for going all in but don't be surprised when NASCAR rules against you when breaking their rules. The 1 & 3 were clearly not going to pass the 24 and created a rolling road block to ensure that. Went on for the last 40 laps of the race.
I would like to see when the 23 started backing up. If I’m JGR and I see what is going on with the 24 then hell yes I’m going to play the game too.
I don’t think for one second that what the 20 did is remotely comparable to what the 1 did last year. Looking at the incident at face value, he over drives the entry and gets loose, chasing the car up into the wall. And coming to the checkered, of course he is going to gas it up.
With all that said, I think the 1, 3, and 23 should be parked next race. Also the 20 & 24 should be disqualified and the final race should be a 3 car championship.
If NASCAR is going to keep this ****** *** format that encourages this type of ****, then they need to drop the hammer so hard that teams would rather face backlash from the manufacturers that are giving these orders. A monetary fine is not going to be enough.
