The media is just doing its job. Reporting on what people want to see. Did it last year with Trae Young and further in the past with Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, Steph Curry, and others.

Someone get the wahmbulance warmed up. Did he even play in the game?

Zion is making average college hoops fans watch college hoops this year. He drove up the ticket price to Super Bowl levels. If you can’t see the dollar and cents of it all.... ESPN is a business. And Carolina still gets plenty of attention too.

He may be screaming in deaf ears, but I don't think he is incorrect. The story has been about Zion going down and how people were cheated out of seeing the greatest show in college basketball in a long time. unc has been given little credit despite dominating the game and making the plays they did. I am certain the game would have been a lot different had Zion played. But there is nothing unc could do about it and they put on a hell of a performance.

“The way I live is be so good that nobody can ignore you.”

That’s not the way you live or you’d be the #1 pick in the draft, all over ESPN and not Zion. This statement is hilarious. Best part is that Zion doesn’t ask for the attention and if the tables were turned he sure as hell wouldn’t behave like that.

Roy certainly seems to be ignoring him.

2 things here...

1) People keep talking about ESPN like they are a company that works for NCAA Basketball and have to present it in an unbiased way. But ESPN is a business that depends on ratings. That is why every Duke, UNC, & Kentucky game gets their highlights shown on SportsCenter and Gardner-Webb highlights almost never get show. Jay-Z went to a Duke game AT PITT! Not to watch a great game, but to watch Zion. Obama would not have been at the Duke/UNC game if Zion was not on this team. Zion has millions of followers and views online. People are tuning in to see Zion. ESPN wants ratings.. period.

2) Little says “The way I live is like, be so good nobody can ignore you”... THAT is exactly what Zion is doing and why he is getting all of the attention. Before the season started, people were not expecting Zion to be the best player in college basketball. He was expected to be a great highlight reel and not much else. But, he is so good that nobody can ignore it. The kid is one of the best freshmen players in years. AND, he’s a human highlight reel. AND, he’s a great, humble kid with no baggage. He is everything ESPN ever wanted. ESPN didn’t pick him.. Zion is so good they have no choice but to make him their poster boy.

Carolina played well, specifically Maye. I don’t discredit them, they can’t control the Zion situation and they aren’t at fault over it. But bragging about winning that game is like bragging about beating the Patriots without Brady. They can take the win and run, but gloating or wanting to receive praise is just silly.

Sure. I wasn't saying that it was surprising that the media went with Zion over the actual outcome of the game. Guess I am just saying that I would be annoyed by it as a player if I was part of the other side. But maybe a player like Maye who lit us up should be the voice that says this?

I don't blame Nassir. It was a good win for them and it certainly did more than sting for us.

Can't help him much where the media wants to take their story.

I will say that my perception of UNC's ability to go far in the tournament increased.

UNC will be feeling a lot of pressure to beat Duke when Zion is back. Should be a fun game....more fun than the last one I hope.

Zion is a once in a decade player and the best freshman prospect since Anthony Davis. Of course he’s gonna get the hype and publicity. Nassir just mad he’s coming off the bench.

Littles das made a very thoughtful tweet after the Zion injury. Nas appears to be a real dick- the fact that he has essentially been a no show this season seems to be weighing on him. Although Roy might get him involved just enough late here. Regardless Littke has been completely unimpressive

SportsCenter Anchor:
“I know millions of you just tuned in to see the latest Zion Williamson in-game 360 dunk, to go along with his 28 points and 12 rebounds in 25 minutes of play.. BUT.. instead we are going to show you Nas Little’s highlights from his 5 points in 11 minutes of play off the bench against Wake Forest.. enjoy!”

I don’t have a problem with what he said at all. He’s probably right. Not that he contributed much Wednesday but his take on the espn and the media in general is pretty spot on.

Sounds like a little spoiled brat that isnt getting the attention that he thinks he should be getting. Another reason kids shouldnt be getting handed a trophy for participation when they are little.

That was an off the record conversation and they published that anyway. He is stating what everybody outside of your fan base thinks. Yes, Zion is a monster and deserves the hype but Nas is not wrong. This is a case of the media taking advantage of an 18 year old. The guy who was talking to him point blank said this is between you and me and then they posted it anyway. Nas is a great kid and it pisses me off when you have schmucks in the media that want to stir the pot.

“Everybody outside our fan base”. Really.

Nas should worry about that difficult UNC offense that only Mensa members can play in.

The hot teams usually get the hype. Kentucky has gotten as much lately as they have been on a tear.

So if he knew it would be printed, he would have said something different? Which one is true? What he says in confidence? Or to the public?

ESPN isn't a charity. Ratings drive ad revenue, and they will latch on to any story or individual that drives ratings.

Zion Williamson's unique combination of athleticism, skill and personality make him the most notable college basketball player probably of the last 20 years. Of course ESPN is going to provide highly extensive coverage of a player like that.

As far as the game itself, he is unquestionably the national player of the year (and again, arguably the best player of the last 20 or so years--look at the metrics) and the team's pulse. His going down in an utterly bizarre and inexplicable circumstance justifiably became THE story of the game, and while Carolina played the rest of the game well, the truth is that, because of the injury, it should be regarded as one of the most inconsequential wins in the rivalry's recent history.

And it always kills me when the butthurt of the envious leads them to bleat and wheeze about how they're not getting enough attention and credit. "Damn you all for not patting our backs harder, waaaahhh... "

It's easier to play that card than accept personal responsibility for why you haven't exactly set the world on fire.

It was in confidence. There is audio that goes with that. Some reporter said this is between me and you.
