Underwent surgery for a core muscle injury suffered early in the season. Played through it and still had a career-year. He finished his third season in the NFL with 72 total tackles, 5 pass breakups, 2.5 sacks, 2 interceptions (1 returned for a touchdown), and 1 fumble recovery. He's a warrior.

Anyone who identifies as Blackshirt on MNF is cool in my book. Yes, he had his issues at the end of his career at NU. Think that was problems with the staff here at the time. But at the end of the day he's a starter on an NFL team with a Super Bowl ring and a solid bank account.

Sure hope the Eagles get to play the Bills soon. An interception by Gerry followed by flipping the ball to QB Josh Allen again would be cool.
