Mikey got the win off a terrible shot. He didn't look like himself this weekend...
He finished off the podium last year, so he started the season ranked lower...He should be top 8 after this weekend.
174: Patrick Kennedy vs. Carson Kharchla
Period 1: Tough stylistic matchup for Kennedy, IMO. Physical handfighting early. Front head for Kennedy, and stalemate. Kharchla shoots into a front head, and tries to duck, but Kennedy shuts him down. Kharchla shoots, and Kennedy looks to counter.
Kharchla gets to a single, but he's WAY extended Kennedy has an opportunity here, but he's focused on keeping Kharchla from getting his hips underneath him. Kharchla is clearly looking to duck off Kennedy pulling the front headlock, but no dice so far. 0-0 after 1.

Shane Sparks compared PK to a rusty 70s pickup that might not always look pretty but will always start up and go to work for you. Pretty accurate imo.

Surprising amount of action for a match that was 1-1 going into SV. Glad PK was able to gut it out!
Well that and not showing up in March is kind of their thing.
Kennedy, that's the guy you want in the bunker with you. He's the guy that carries 8 wounded soldiers to safety.
