NCST has a guy named Don Cates. Takes time off from his work as a PI to come wrestle on the weekends.

Koy Buesgens, Don Cates, Everest Oullette. NCST may have wrapped up the name championship on day 1.

Nice to see Bailey and Massoma showing some fire. Not nice to see Williams get out-hustled and out-slicked. Not Caliendo's & Kennedy's best matches...both a step slow--Ferrari too.

Illini like that defensive gameplan and play it close and try to steal at the end. Im pretty sure that's why they loved it when they pulled Joey Gunther from Iowa years ago, he was the poster child for that gameplan. Only 3 in that lineup tonight that had any kind of attack til end of match.

If he is banged up, there just wasn’t a good reason for him to wrestle a tough Big 10 opponent. The team didn’t need it to win and a loss would most likely put him behind Luffman at the Big 10 tourney and even worse, possibly behind anyone Luffman may lose to.

it would be different if they had a conference dual with Illinois, but, since they don’t, this was the best strategy. Again, as long as he was/is banged up.

From everything i keep hearing the plan is for him to wrestle today. If thats true yesterday was only precaution with the duals already wrapped up

Again, I only shared what I heard directly from one of the MatPac coaches.

Hopefully, it was precautionary. Iowa is a 5th-9th place team without Big Ben at HWT.
