Gutsy win. Whew. Okie State is gonna be tough to beat for the next few years. Wrestled four TRUE freshmen and another 2 redshirt freshmen. And the 4 true freshmen are as good as our best seniors.

125: Peterson is a great athlete. Wish he didn't rely so much on his (admittedly stellar) defense. But he's crafty and stingy and can beat anybody.

133: Ayala has a tendency to be a bit sloppy, like snapping guys into his legs, walking into re-shots, and not clearing legs on takedown finishes. Ramirez was ALL defense, all the time, but that was his plan, and he is tough. Drake the aggressor and got it done.

141: Stupid, stupid, stupid, well-deserved loss. Let me rant for a moment. Do you want to wrestle or not? Why are you here? Why are you in a singlet? Why are you on the mat? You pissed away 6:30 of a 7-min match doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Ironside: "Some of the most boring wrestling I've ever seen." "Zero action. May as well have just taken 3 min off the clock and started in the second." "Had the leg in the air for a MINUTE and didn't know what to do with it." Tom, send this guy to Gable to get his brain adjusted, pronto.

149: Surprisingly impressed with Block. Ironside: "What a difference a match makes (vs. Bailey). This is fun!"

157: Ironside: "We just don't have anything for him." Robideau is great...fun to watch...never stops. Would love to have him in our lineup. VV is not bad, just nowhere near this level.

165: What a great match, despite the outcome. Thought we had him at the end, and it looked like a Tulsa gift from where I sit, but Lockett is the real deal. Not gonna be easier in March.

174: Kennedy outlasted him.

184: Ferrari is amazing...wrestles slick, wrestles tough, wrestles strategically.

197: I wasn't counting on any NCAA points from Endeme. Now I am.

A few bonus thoughts:

- Tom, teach your guys how to finish when they have the leg in the air!

- Ironside: "Ref doing everything he can to let Okie St win this dual. And it's blatantly obvious." I agree. We got some hometown point shaving.

- Ohio St is gonna be tough. Looking forward to some (more) great wrestling. Let's do it! (You too, Bailey!)

Attendance is not as much as I would like.
I always want to see good attendance for wrestling, but I hope this tanks enough to make tickets more reasonable in the future. I know that won't happen, but...
Put it in the Alliant Energy Powerhouse next year and that won’t be a problem.
Won't happen, Funded by OSU billionaire.
Prize Purse For 2025 National Duals Invitational

First Place - $200,000
Second Place - $150,000
And $150,000 for 3rd. I think they knew where Okie State would finish.

Agree for the most part. 141 is a toss up unless it comes down to mat wrestling. Vega is a beast on top...just majored Hardy. Also, everybody reacting to the tOSU woodshed of Nebby who also just lost 33-6 to Okie State. Nebraska is *** right now. There is peaking for an event and then there is doing hookers/blow the night before an event. I think they'll be fine by EOY but dang.

133 lbs. Davino vs Ayala. Me thinks Davino will suprise, the guy is much to active for position wrestler Ayala. Davino can put points on the board.

Honestly, it hardly matters, as it's almost a completely different sport today. The defensive scrambling is far superior to anything 30 years ago. Ditto top riding. The talent level of the kids coming out of high school is unprecedented. The only thing that is still consistent is the need for physical and mental toughness.

Maybe I am smoking something but could we see Iowa put Gabe at 184, Angelo 197 and Endene HWT?
Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.

Agreed 100% with Bailey rant. Don't want to pile on, but geezus......😡

Yeah, it's early, but already convinced we have something in Block and Endene. Just the one match yesterday for Block and he looked "different", showed it again today. Love his length on top of everything else. I'd be stunned at this point if he doesn't have a really solid year. Endene is clearly the real deal, doesn't panic and is solid everywhere. Podium type guys, both of them. Will help keep us in the conversation for 4th at Natty's. 😂

Agree with Chief, and said from the
get-go in this match, Caliendo has to get after this really talented kid from the opening whistle and see how he handles it. He didn't come remotely close to doing that.

That said, Caliendo I thought got screwed a couple of times in this match, but he allowed it to happen, so he earned his L the hard way. I don't think he'll lose to Lockett again, and Mikey is far and away our best wrestler, IMO.

Take the overall W and get ready to battle with the apparently resurgent Buckeye's. LFG!

It was absolutely a stall ride, he was sitting on an ankle hook with zero intention to move. He did the same thing again later and ref didnt care. As I said in earlier post, this ref hasn't been consistent with how he is calling stalling
Definitely was a stall ride, but is hasn't been called much in the past. Let's hope they are putting an emphasis on it this year. PSU might need to find another ride, if so.
