I just don’t understand what’s going on with him. He goes from practicing and warm up’s before the cheats game (10 days ago today) and coaches held him out of caution. To now, still in a boot yesterday at their selection show party. Wtf is going on with him?

Agree. Something is up with his foot that Duke isn't telling us. I don't see how he can be in a boot Sunday and suddenly able to fully practice then play Thursday.

Clearly sounds like he will be back at some point, but take this how you will. My take on this is he’s not playing Thursday, which I suppose we can endure but in my opinion- doesn’t give a lot of hope for this weekend.

The issue with him not playing Thursday is how does he go from being in a boot and little cardio to all of a sudden playing his normal 20 mpg on Saturday? I’m just reading between the lines (and of course what some of the downers are saying on socials) but he will 100% be needed Saturday if we get past Thursday.

My guess is Pat will be back for the sweet 16 but who knows. It's hard to tell as Jon is speaking like a politician and saying all the right things. (not that I blame him). He needs to complete steps, he's progressing nicely, we're hopeful, etc. The soreness thing is vague as well. Is it getting better? Can he play through it? Guess we'll find out Thursday. Pat is not practicing right now so they will evaluate him this week and then he needs to practice and see how his foot feels is what I gathered.

That would be ideal because I think we need full go Pat Saturday. The part that gets me is he isn’t practicing yet and he said while it’s a one and done tournament, he doesn’t want to rush things. I love Jon as much as the next guy, but he’s very vague on these things.

I’m far from a D1 athlete and Pat is a GREAT kid and teammate but if this is truly a pain management thing and there’s no structural damage- he needs to give it a go. Pop a painkiller before the game big fella- we need our rim protection and scoring down low THIS WEEK!!

100% agree here. From what I saw with him still in his boot yesterday, I'm not confident at all we'll see him Thursday. I say 40/60 we see him Sunday as long as we advance.

Thursday yes. But Ohio State and TCU he will be needed. OSU is a bit more guard heavy but he will be needed to protect the paint from their two good guards penetrating and TCU has two guys who are rebounding machines.

Life without Pat in the big dance shading either of the two second round opponents will be less than ideal. Of course, have to win Thursday

I know, history has shown us that anything can happen, but we just ran the table in the ACC tourney down two starters. We are 32-2 with those two losses by a combined 4 points. Our defense is elite. We lost ONE game in ACC play. I just don't see us folding in the first weekend against a 16 seed and an 8/9 seed. We will need Pat for the second weekend IMHO against presumably St. Johns or Kansas.

I know our margin of error is slimmer without Foster and for however long we are without Pat.

I think we see Pat on the floor in limited minutes on Saturday. After that he will have 5 days to get ready for the S16 game.

I agree. If Pat does not play and we lose to OSU or TCU I don't think we can use the injury excuse. A good team should be able to power through this weekend. I think we advance to the second weekend with or without Pat.

I want Pat back, just like everyone else. We need that big (and skilled) body. I think we will survive the first weekend regardless though. There's just something different about this team, and it's a combination of Cam being such a skilled team player, and Jon. He has this team really focused.

Not that I think he has been a bad coach, but he's better than he was last season. He must have had some sleepless nights after the Houston debacle. I know I did.
