Will have to hear at least one mother in-law story before I can agree with the statement.
Ten years or so ago my wife had her gall bladder removed. He mother wanted to stay in the hospital with her overnight. Brow beat her about it. Finally told her that she needed to stay because the male nurses and orderlies raped female patients. There was an incident during the night with my wife's comfort (or something, I don't recall). She didn't call me.
When my wife was a child her father drank and beat her. Her mother told her that it happened because she didn't pray hard enough for it to not happen.
Three years ago my wife had cervical fusion surgery. MIL insisted on coming over to watch her during the day. She would bring my wife's diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic brother with her. He'd immediately go into a spare bedroom and sleep. MIL would nit and then leave to go to WalMart and run other errands leaving the the mentally challenged brother as caregiver.
I have more. Just suffice it to say that she's selfish and narcissistic and wants to be the center of everyone's universe.
