If you just watch football on TV from time to time you know better than passing past the LOS. This is just a complete lack of cognitive activity or basic awareness by the player.
Navy QB with obvious forward lateral with Line Judge staring directly at the play.....no flag. Even the Navy TV announcers called it a forward lateral.

I don’t disagree with your post. Still, that has nothing to do with poor officiating.
Or poor fundamentals that our team shows. A high school team has better discipline that we do.
I love it when the announcers comment on the inert nature of our explosive offense.
The announcers keep waiting for us to take a shot on first down. They need to be drug tested.
Many, many plays backing up this post again today, but Manny did finally make a nice tackle to hold Navy to a field goal.
I have an idea. We need to change from Golden Hurricane to Turnovers. Our new mascot, Pop Tart, can greet fans at games and taunt opponents by yelling “Eat Me!” at them.
