Does this mean we're going to give up 300+ yards rushing to them again this year?

The problem defending this team is that they can pass too. As long as their QB stays healthy that is. He’s very good. They’ve dominated this first half at Memphis. Only up by 6 due to special teams

I don't see the love for Navy. They run the same offense they've run for years. We finally have a defensive front that can handle the blocking scheme and we have safeties who crash down quick in run support. CBs will have to stay disciplined and just cover their man.

Quick question: How does Gillespie adjust knowing you only need 2 CBs to cover Navy? Do you have Brandon Johnson running more of a roaming LB role vs a cover safety?

And Navy is the one defense I think we should be able to overpower with the run game. They're front 4 are pretty tiny guys compared to some of the behemoth DLs we've played so far. Wyoming DL was GIANT.

I agree. Wyoming’s front 7 is being treated on this board very strangely. They were some boys and it was a bad bad matchup for our young O line.

We have a couple of corners who can play safety. It presents an interesting opportunity in terms of disguising, rotating and overloading.

It'll be interesting to see how bad Jaxon Player will clog up the Middie middle for that fullback dive & other of the many line plunges they run. Blankenship as well. Those 2 are 6.0'(or less) & a biscuit within 300 lbs.
I just can't see them getting cut-blocked much

Blankenship is listed at 6'1", Player at 6'. And I believe Player's listed weight is about 310. They don't list strength on his stats but I would put it down as "OX". Plus we're moving Gipson around from one side to the other. Makes it hard to call plays to go away from him and he's quick enough to chase most down from behind. My game plan is whatever side Gipson lines up on, Collins is on the opposite side. Also, we have a special LB in Yohance Burnett. Been really impressed with his speed in pursuit, ability to find ball/get ball, and his physicality in tackling. When Yohance hits you, you know it.

6:30pm Kick off announced for the game on the 12th
Finally a decent kick time and it shouldn't be 100 degrees. Watch, first somewhat evening game and we'll probably hit our 1st cold snap...cold enough to keep most of the older generation of TU fans at home.

Hopefully we experience the traditional service academy game and get a lot of former Navy personnel at the game to make it look 1/2 full.

We always have a good showing when Navy comes to town. It was a bitterly cold night a few years ago and we still had a nice crowd.
