Proof that NBA players are laziest workers in all of America. On Xmas day all of the NBA is scoring way under the "over/under". These teams are going up the court half-***. I didn't bet on this but it's funny. Wish I had cause these guys don't deserve to be called professional when we have kids that are 18 walking "real " lines of defense. Oh I'm so sorry your making millions and have to work Xmas when troops are working xmas making = to provity level. God bless are troops today and please turn off your NBA basketball. They are completely what's wrong with sports

"People talk about me getting $80 million, now you got people getting $85 million that haven't made the All-Star [Game] or anything like that," Wall said.

John Wall is having a difficult X-mass. Please pray for his family. His contract is only for $80 million. Cause let's face it, when I think of champions, John Wall is like the last guy I think of. Does his team even matter? This is the NBA. Thank god it only takes center stage 1 day a year. Tomorrow we can get back to bowl games and NFL.when that ends, it's college basketball. When that ends MLB starts. NBA is the worst. Never seen more guys waste opportunity in anything. Yet we treat our poor soldiers like dirt in this country. God bless the troops.

Troops and also medical staff. Car accidents and Christmas indigestion don't take holidays off.

What do the salaries of NBA players have to do with the salaries of military personnel? It's all dictated by the market. Who would you rather see deciding how much one person is allowed to make? Congress? President? You? Me? Or are you advocating that we raise the salaries of military personnel to "$80 million?"

This is a weird take. Why not compare salaries of NBA players (or military, if that's your desire) to the local Wallgreens store manager? I stopped in there for a couple of things yesterday and they were open. Or how about McDonalds employees? Or bartenders? Like I said...weird take. Next thing you will ***** about is "those there NBA players get to wear shorts to work! Our TROOPS don't get to, gosh darn it!"

These are the most highly-gifted athletes in the world. Some have earned it through hard work, dedication, and practice..mixed with their gifts. Others can almost just wake up and play. Let's hope they appreciate their God-given abilities and share with others, such as our troops.

I think the point was that too many of these elite level athletes do not respect their God given talents and the hard work they put in with those talents. Just see the John Wall quote.

The world of the elite athlete can be easier to slip into the "world owes me look at how great I am" mindset. In watch less pro sports each year as the look at me see how important I am just turns me off. You made a jump shot cool, a first down catch yeah, a strikeout sweet. Do your job man.

As a coach when my players can't make the simple play without acting like coach see how good I am see see see, I know it's time to get them grounded again about life. Think that was the point of the OP. If I didn't get the right point please correct me, OP.

lots of code talk here...NBA for me is about 60th on the list of any sport I will watch but to call them lazy is a lazy and tired take. If you are going to complain about pro athletes making ridiculous money baseball would be a great place to start..hell the money that pitchers alone make is the gdp of a small country and they only play once every 5 days

In the future, rather than putting together a nonsensical post that makes absolutely no sense, you instead drop the pretext and just tell us what you really want to say. Anyone with half a brain knows what you're getting at.

NBA players are just like anyone else. Some are hard workers; some are not. They make a lot of money because they are extremely talented at something a lot of people value very highly in our society and the market supports the salaries they make. It's called capitalism and it's called America. Aren't these the values the troops you purport to love so much are fighting for?

I don't care to watch the NBA whether it's Christmas Day, Halloween or Memorial Day - fortunately my TV has an "OFF" button. But why would low-scoring games be proof of lackadaisical play? Does the NBA All-Star game usually end up 162 to 156 because the effort is so intense? And why is scoring generally lower in the playoffs than in the regular season?

Anyone else desperate for something to ***** about?

The NBA season is a marathon. There are far, far, too many games in close succession to allow for adequate musculoskeletal and cardiac recovery. The majority of games need to be played at ~ 75-85% to allow for max effort when the games matter.

I don't think so, baseball has a grueling schedule with a 162 game schedule. You have no clue obviously about the wear and tear a baseball player goes through.

There is a reason they can play 162 games and football plays 16. Grueling please.
