Just got back from Mavericks/Pacers. Myles Turner is looking like he's going to be an All-Star this year, and came through huge in the OT win for them. If you love the sport of basketball and you've never seen a live NBA game you're really missing out. You really get to appreciate just how massive and freakish these guys are. Best athletes on the planet. Plus you get to take in just how physical the D is (lol at the tired "they don't play defense!" b.s. that gets thrown around), the nuances of certain matchups, and the amazing skill level. Just a blast.

Anthony Davis looks healthy, right? 50 points, 16 boards, 7 steals, 5 assists, and 4 blocks. And the Pelicans still lost at home.

Didn't get to see it but apparently Embiid looked great tonight for the 76ers. Shame Simmons is injured as that'd be a fun team to watch. Brandon Ingram also doing really nice things in his debut so far.

Easiest way to spot a poser basketball fan: "they don't play defense", "he can only dunk" (meanwhile, he's the best wing defender in the league), "he walked!!!!!!" --well ok ;)

Embiid was sicker than an aids dick tonight.

Davis with that stat line in a loss

Westbrook and Harden early-on favorites for MVP.

Soooo much talent in basketball right now. Tune in to watch certain players play. Or, ya know, stay stubborn and check out that awesome Arkansas vs. Ole Miss game in Shakespeare's theater. "I sure hope they draw some charges!!!"

Antony Davis needs to sit his *** down and refuse to get up until he gets traded to a team that's at least gonna win 45 games. Such a great player on such a **** team... same as Cousins. It's a shame.

The Pelicans will be a lot better when Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans return in a month or so. However, their Centers are garbage. They need some major help at that position.

That's true, but Jrue holiday and Tyreke are idiots. Better, but not enough to get that team over the hump.

I forgot Sacramento got Ty Lawsom. That's a solid value/pickup. I still wish boogie could go somewhere. Oscar Combs' daughter made a great case for San Antonio to trade Lamarcus Aldridge for him, as apparently Aldridge has already expressed interst in being traded as he wants to be "the man" somewhere else. I just can't really see that.

I thought TJones was a good get for Pelicans. Did he play well? I haven't checked...

There ain't a UK player on a team I really like or respect. Shame. Who are these guys' agents? I know boogies is some damn kid. Maybe he's a nice guy, but man, who advised him to resign with fn Sacramwnto? That's BS.

Rudy Gay is in the final 2 years of his contract and has asked to be traded from the Kings. That will make things worse for Cousins as the Kings are unlikely to get much in return. Their starting PF is Kosta Koufos. Hard to win with guys like that in the starting line up.

Jones didn't have a good game last night but he got 18 minutes. He did have some really good pre-season games.

I don't get guys that want to be "the man". Is it to make more money? For ****'s sake you're already making 20M+ a year. What's the difference between 20M and 22M if you're not a blubbering idiot with money? I'd actually rather take a small pay cut to play for a title contender. At the end of your career no one's gonna remember that you made a **** ton of money but they'll remember if you won a title.

Jones had 6 points and 3 rebounds in 17 minutes.

You don't like Liggins being in Cleveland, essentially the back up PG... Patterson in Toronto? Rondo in Chicago. Wall in Washington? Young in Boston? Kanter in OKC, Drew Harrison in Memphis? MKG in Charlotte? Those are all potential playoff teams this year most likely.

hell, better question, cause i'm lazy, is how many NBA teams don't have a kentucky player on them?

Oh hell yea I love Liggs and think that was a good get/bargain.

I just forgot about some players. Rondo slips my mind. He's still so silly. I got to see him in person when he came to indiana last year with Sacramento. It was unreal. He was head and shoes need the best aued on the court. It was like he aued the game in super slow mo and EVEYBODY else looked like chickens with their heads cut off. He's really like a Jedi on the court.

DC is garbage franchise. Can stand what they do. Same with Danny Ainge and Celtics. Their little college ball team is cute, but unless he's handed another trade gift, he won't ever build a contender his way.

Charlotte. Nope. Can't watch Kemba.

I love all the UK guys I just want to see the biggest stars really shine.

And not all people play ball to win. It's a job for a lot of folks, and things like money and scenery come before wining, I guess. I get that. Plus, there's no loyalty. Probably best for a lot of guys to just treat it like a job, for their mental health of nothing else.

Like if Demarcus gets stuck in Sacramento he'll learn to not love wining real quick...whig has probably happened. I mean, the guy plays zero defense and loafs around half the time; still, he's clearly one of the top bigs in the league. Would be really nice if he had a reason to play. Fn celtics should have got him. F danny Ainge, he's a p****.

Do we draft or just rank?
Draft but you can set it on auto. Then all you have to do is get your lineup set every Sunday. Sometimes you might not make any changes.

It is an auction draft which is much more fun than a snake draft. You kind of have to play GM also because there is a $200 salary cap. You could spend a ton on 2 players if you want but then probably have to fill out your roster with a bunch of scrubs. Auto draft will do it for you but you can also set a price for certain players you might want.

Tell me how you really feel there J. It was not a super serious post, relax. I know UK has added a couple colors not associated with team color, but did not get the memo they where going by U ****ing K now. I really do not think that is a good look, and 100% sure it was not run by Milk Toast before they started using it.

Same reason U ****ing K doesn't count Kyle. He did not enter the NBA as a UK player. He transferred. He's a Gonzaga player. Just because Billy Joe Wildcat has this endearment towards him for being the 7th man on a title team before leaving after playing in the NIT the following year despite being a general good sport and overall nice guy towards all things UK.... it doesn't make him a "Wildcat in the NBA". Enes Kanter practiced in the Craft for an entire year, was ruled ineligible by the NCAA, didn't transfer, and entered the NBA draft having went nowhere else after being at UK.

The picture isn't some subjective representation of my feelings toward a player. It's completely objective. Did they enter the NBA from UK? Then they're in the sig. Did they not? Then they're not.

By your standards UK should include Rod Rhodes and Michael Bradley as "UK in the NBA" back when. They didn't then. Same thing now.

Gonzaga will include Kyle Wiltjer on their vast wall of "Gonzaga in the NBA" players. All 3 of em or so.

Ay-men to this.

Every star in a rookie contract resigns with their own team. Too much incentive not to.

At the end of your career no one's gonna remember that you made a **** ton of money but they'll remember if you won a title.

Converse: who cares what other people think when you've maximized your earning potential in your brief window? But overall point remains.

Worst NBA starter? I'm going with Wes Mathews.

Worst NBA starter IMO is ..... 30 year old journeyman, Luc Mbah a Moute for the Clippers. He has started all 11 games this season and averages 5.9 PPG, 0.3 APG and 2.5 RPG. The Clippers have little shot in the west until they get a decent small forward.

I figured it'd have to be someone on the 76ers or Pelicans. This is Robert Covington. Averaging 28 minutes a game, shooting 29.4% from the field and more turnovers than assists.

BTW, anyone who enjoys the product of college basketball more than the NBA isn't a true fan of basketball. It's okay to go nuts for UK and follow the games religiously, but watching anything outside of UK is a chore anymore. Last night's high profile Kansas-Duke showdown featured 30 turnovers, 49 fouls, and featured the winning team going 2-17 from three and their best player spending most of the first half on the bench. And this will be a game people point to throughout the year as a great, exciting early season game. [laughing] Give me a random NBA game on a Wednesday night over any college basketball game outside of the Cats, at least until March.

Cat on cat violence:

Kanter is so awful on D. Flat-footed, awful instincts.. always wondered if a Cal could've helped fix that.

Towns with a decent 47 point, 18 board night as well. :scream:

15-22 from the field and 17-20 from the line. Pretty exciting to watch Towns and AD grow into All-NBA first teamers.
