I hope they turn the corner.I remember their 1976 playoff team & the 89 team so close to getting in

In a perfect world, Joliet Central would be the 10th team added to the Southland Conference starting in the fall of 19.

Coach Boyter does a great job with the hand he is dealt. Great role model for those young men. I wish him nothing but the best with the Steelmen.

A lot more than that...Central doesn't have any sort of feeder program and hasn't been able to draw as many kids compared to baseball/hoops/soccer etc. Coach Boyter has basically done just about anything and everything you can think of....and if that staff had a half the talent compared to the rest of the conference they would challenge to be a playoff team in my opinion in most years.

I remember back in 1981 Central was voted to be closed by a 5 to 2 vote I believe.They got new board members who in turn voted 4 to 3 to close East
