They're a weird team. They won at UNC and U of L. Beat Duke in Raleigh.
Yet, they were buried at Boston College less than two weeks ago. They were spanked at home by Clemson, lost at Wake Forest, and nearly lost at Georgia Tech. They also have home losses to Wofford and Cincinnati.
NC State may be the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde team of this years tourney.

i don't worry to much abut them. they were better last year with TJ Warren and still lost their 1st round game to St. Louis. Gottfried is terrible, and NC State always finds a way to lose
I'm not sure now is the time to be concerned about a Gottfried coached team.

I hope they are. I fully expect OSu vs. NC ST as our 8/9. I feel sorry for the winner, the loser gets off easy
They absolutely are a tough team if we face them. But, playing at Yum and likely a virtual home game (after all when we play UL we have more fans there than they do), I don't fear a loss.
Deep team and kind of fun to watch.
Their guards are more than capable of building a tourney run, as long as "Stretch Armstrong" plays decent in the middle

Yes but UCON was destroyed by louisville last year and still won the NC. Sometimes a team just gets on a roll against the right seeding.
They are one of a number of teams out there with the potential to pull off a big upset. Or lose their first game. Utah's better, but they are likely going to be a 4. That's a team that has a lot of talent and potential, but they lost 3 of their last 5, and they to could flame out. I'm just glad we're 3 days from Sunday, and in the meantime have a bunch of games with a lot of the teams in play. Should be a great next 3 days of college basketball. Oh, and I think UK plays tomorrow as well!

Watching them last night I was hoping they will not be in our region as an 8/9 matchup. Excellent guard play plus 4 decent bigs inside.
Why would Virginia not deserve a one seed? They lost to UL with their key guard out and lost at home in the last few seconds to the second ranked team in the country? Plus, they play a hell of a defense.
And I am sure Calipari will have trouble outcoaching the GREAT Gottfried, even though UK has much better players and would be playing in Louisville in a virtual home game.
