With Abu and Anya coming back and State adding Smith Jr. and Yurtseven, where does this put State in the ACC? If Yurtseven is as good as advertised, that is a pretty tough frontcourt. If Smith Jr. is healthy and adapts well to the college game, how high is State's ceiling? Does this put them ahead of UNC? Getting beat up by Duke and NC State in the same season would be pretty tough on heel fans.

I'm not sure how good they'll be because it seems like whenever they're "supposed to be good" they don't have a good season. As far as Yurtseven, there have been reports that he might end up having some eligibility issues.

I think NC State will be pretty good. I'm thinking they might finish in the middle of the ACC with Yurtseven but it all depends on his eligibility issues.

I think they'll be real good next year. Dennis Smith is ridiculous. If he comes back at full strength he's gonna be a problem.

I think they are a top 20 team. With those two coming back, and Smith, Henderson, and Rowan, you could argue they have as good a starting lineup of any team in conference outside of Duke.

I am one of those bi-nation fans who likes both State and Duke. I am continually impressed with the way NC State is discussed on this board versus the UNC site. Here there is respect, there, there is contempt. Here there is a generally fair analysis, there, there is loads of snark.

Denver-Sand in my crack-that is just beautiful. I hereby propose that Sand In My Crack be the unofficial designation for all D-Bag opponents on this board. Hereby denoted by SIMC. Brice Johnson, with that pathetic stare down, he is just SIMC.

The only way I could see NC state cracking the top3 in the ACC was if Barber returned. DSJr will be good, but I don't think he will be as good as Barber this past season.

I see them as a bubble tournament team, with me wondering how Rowan is able to play at such a high level and look like a farmer at the same dang time.

We will just have to wait and see. Smith might be the real deal and the key to whether they are dancing. OFC

I like NC State as well and have for many years except when they play Duke. State has been a very average team for many seasons and just can't keep their players around long enough. Maybe things can change soon and maybe they can beat the Cheats.

My father graduated from State in 75. Said what killed State's athletics was an academic professor who eventually became Chancellor of the school. Was responsible for State basketball (Jim Valvano) and football (Dick Sheridan) going to hell. Just a few nuggets from my old man.
