Only power 5 conference in Final 4 is ACC.
What is the implication about which conference played the best basketball?

None

Big East 4th place team advances. Are they the best? No way.

Single elimination tournaments select for teams gelling at the time of the tournament. They do not select who would win best of 3,5, or 7. The winner is often not the best team, but does have the qualities and characteristics of champions: clutch, timely, consistent. Often with a leader who rises to the occasion. And a coach who can have pack quickly to use his team to best advantage.

The notion of judging conferences by who wins a year end single elimination tournament is based on fallacious thinking. It may be that the best day to day is not the best progress to win six single elimination games in a row

This year's results may help to put that BS to rest.

Many conferences with some 'splaining' to do.

Seems easy to understand to me - significant randomness or luck in NCAA tournament

At the same time it seems like a dozen or so coaches historically have found the secret sauce to NCAA success

Sounds like some excuses for the B1G falling flat even though many believed it to be one of the top conferences.

NCAA tournament matters. Winning early season cross conference matches is nice, BUT every team in America plays for a chance to earn a bid & to advance to sweet 16, elite 8, final 4 and overall championship.

When conferences continue to bow out early, their bids will be handed to conference teams that advance. Some lower conferences are gaining credibility while some P5 conferences are losing their luster.

It is all about Parity. On any given night any top 100 team can beat another top 100 team. The Portal and NIL will ensure that more non powers get a taste of success in the NCAA tournament

Whatever the criteria are for selection, they should be transparent and followed fairly. If they want conference performance to be considered that could be legitimate, with when they had that the small conferences complained. Need to be fair and transparent.
