Brackets are released tonight at 8 on ncaa.com. Usually there are leaks before all of the brackets are revealed. Thoughts/reactions? Who got a bad seed? Who got the right seed, but their fans are dumb and don't realize it? Who will Angelo Ferrari kneel against first? Let's talk about it.

If the past is any indication, I predict many fans from every team will cry foul, even for legit seeds because the path traveled is a tough one. Yep, every wrestler's path is tough when competing against the best in the country.

That said, there may also be a few situations that show up here for discussion, such as Angelo Ferrari. I know it has been discussed on other threads, but what do you do with a talented wrestler that missed a good bit of the season due to injury, then finishes 8th in the conference tourney? Let the math determine his seed is fair, for sure, but he could send a few wrestlers to wrestlebacks that are higher seeds...or he might not. Let the chips fall where they may.

I hope they let the math lead them but then add some common sense. Blaze/Davino and Forrest/Seidel don't deserve to be the chalk semis. Seed them any way you'd like but Forrest/Blaze and Davino/Seidel should be the chalk semis. Angelo Ferrari shouldn't be the 16/17 or 8/9 to set up a Welsh III too early.

Mirasola is the only wrestler on Penn State that the draw is really going to play a role. He needs to avoid the super heavys until as late as possible. Ghadiali and Taylor are always going to give him size problems be he can go with most of the rest including Bastida and Trumble.

The draw doesn't really matter to Davis as he can beat almost anyone at the weight and lose to almost anyone also.

yeah, 133 is the most interesting one to me. no semi rematches please.

I want to see where Gabe Arnold goes. He doesn't have a lot of matches at 197. I don't think Barr has an issue with him, but he has the talent to pull an upset.

Cannon could be an interesting one at 157. Has the talent to compete with anyone if he's healthy enough.

Not understanding the exact take on Arnold, Barr and 197.
Yes, Gabe might win a match or even two at 197.
Against Barr he gets steamrolled like better 197 pounders do.

I am already upset about some of the seeds.

Yeah, Barr won't have trouble beating him. But I do think he can compete at least with some other higher seeds

Those PSU wrestlers obviously earned their #1 seeds, but no number 1 wants to wrestle the second-best wrestler in the bracket during the quarterfinals, and that should obviously be avoided. Yeah, I get that there are rules and a method for the seeds, but when it's clearly wrong, it should be addressed. Not having seen this year's seeds/brackets, I don't know that there will be any real issues, but complaining about stupid seeds who end up hurting a lot of wrestlers on the backside more so than the #1 on the front side isn't wrong.

Peaking is paramount at this time of the year. Just to ensure a proper ramp, my level of outrage at the brackets is already an 8 accordingly. Once they are released later today I am primed to let it fly.

PS - for the most part this is a nothing burger.

As near as I can tell the record for #1 seeds is shared by 1941 Oklahoma State, 1969 Oklahoma, and 1970 Iowa State with 5.

In percentage terms that is 62.5%, 45.5% and 50%, respectively.

When PSU has 70% of the #1 seeds it will be another new record.
Yes, five is the most I could find, as well.
