Hate to say it but I think we got some really good draws!! No thrilled with 133, but every other draw is really good. I don't know what to do? I was prepared for anger and rage at the seeds, but I find myself with an inner calm and confidence
In the end, the seeds are just the seeds. A lot of potential Penn State against Iowa and Penn State against Okie State matches on the way to Saturday. For the Cyclones, not too bad. I like a potential second round match between Frost and SVN. Two warriors where it could turn into an 11-10, 12-9, 9-7 match. Depends whoās on their A game.

27-1 over a full B1G season, including avenging your only loss at the conference tourney AND wrestling national duals is a better record than 14-0 in the 2nd semester only. The committee did 133 wrong.

An interesting storyline. I see Will Betancourt from Rider qualified in his 6th year. He started at Ohio State and then transferred to PSU, although I don't know if he ever was actually in the room...then to Rider. He was 2-11 two tears ago, won over 20 matches this year.
I truly don't understand how Davino didn't get the number 1 seed. Wrestled a full schedule including National duals and Big 10. Redeemed his only loss to the Number 1 ranked guy in country. I don't see where Forrest resume is near Davino's. Please explain

The committee chair, Matt Valenti, explained during the selection show. Forrest was 1-0 vs Davino/Blaze/Seidel. Davino & Blaze were 1-1 and Seidel was 0-1 against the same group. Pittsburgh it's just "yinz" - not from Pittsburgh, but lived there after school for several years.
They wanted a story they can mine at NCAAs. High schooler to #1 seed.
Davino won a bracket with the undefeated reigning National Champ, a returning two time finalist, and an undefeated freshman starting on maybe the greatest team ever assembled.
Why doesn't this committee just turn over the seeds straight to ESPN.

Suppose, for example, that either Davino or Blaze had beaten the other twice. While that might suggest that the two-time loser should be fourth of this group (though even that is dubious given his two losses might be better than the one-time loser's loss), you're still in a situation where the two time winner had no crossover experience against the other two guys. Would the second win over the same guy have somehow suggested he was better than Forrest? Good lord what a dolt.

Thanks. I didn't watch the show. Very stupid not to count the body of work as part of the equation. I personally think the higher ups like the storyline. Looking for clicks and a story that can be told to the general public and create interest in the event. It's like when a person gets hired/promoted because he has more social presence than the more qualified person .

Can't get espn to show more wrestling instead of covering the whole screen with past wrestlers and their stats. I know some people like the story lines but covering the whole screen is a bit much. Show wrestling! And squint kesnicks interviews who wants to see his ugly mug? Rant over.
They really don't have a ton of other stories to pimp. You'll hear high schooler in the fall 50 times but no mention that others in the same bracket are younger. The only thing to discuss about the team race is whether or not Penn State sets another team record but as we saw last year, that's not a story in which ESPN seems to have an interest so that's all they have to entice the casual fan.I didn't see this post before I posted my same thought .
