San Diego proper and anywhere near the coast has great weather. Once you head inland it gets very hot in the summer. I live in Ramona, which is 35 miles N/NE from downtown San Diego. In the summer, San Diego is often a good 20 degrees cooler than Ramona.
I can't stand humid climates. I visited my daughter in Waco, TX one summer and thought I was going to die : (
My dad has a place outside of Orlando it's definitely humid . I spent most of my summers as a kid in the Clearwater area my grandparents lived there. So it's one place I never wanted to live

Brother lives in Tucson and works for the U of A. Been there 30 years and loves it. I go out in November and it's really a nice time to be out there. He does miss the mom & pop pizza joints back east. Ran the Tucson marathon. Rough, full sun the whole way.

Tucson is about 2 hours from me. We get down that way once in awhile. Love the Mexican food in Tucson they've so many good spots.

Agreed. The weather is spectacular if you are west of the 5 from San Diego to about 90 minutes north of L.A. East of the 5 it is still beautiful and mostly always sunny in SoCal but can get very hot in the summer.

On the return leg of one of my "Coast To Coast" motorcycle trips I left San Diego mid morning and usually rode for 5 or 6 hours before settling on where I would like to spend the rest of the day & night. Beautifull day as I left San Diego but it didn't take long to realize that I was getting burned up riding in a t-shirt. So I put my Belstaff jacket on with all vents open and rode as far as I could in the blistering mid-day heat. This got me to the town of Gila Bend AZ where I headed to the first motel I saw, even though I usually camped. I immediately started filling the tub as I couldn't wait to get into a tub of cool water. Once undressed I started to get into the tub but found that it was HOT. Tried both taps and they were both hot water. I went to the office to question the problem and was told that the water came out of the ground at 106 degrees and that visitors get ice from the machine to adjust the tub temperature. Decided then & there that I didn't like the Southwest, aside of the CA Coast!
I have a cousin in Ramona, as does my wife. My aunt lives right on the beach In Encinitas. Some of our best friends are in Vista. We usually take a trip to visit them all every summer. Incredibly beautiful area with possibly the best weather in the world. Unfortunate that it has to be in California.
We live at room temperature all year round. Been here in beautiful Carlsbad by the Sea since '98 and the curse of the great weather is the overabundance of nuts and flakes.
There seems to be a lot more rematches (or potential) this year. Not sure if that's true or not. That's the only issue I have at 133. I wanted the rematches separated to make them less likely instead of in the semis.
I think I'm allowed to say it as I was born and raised in LA. My wife is less of a fan than I am, she's originally from the Bay Area.
In casual conversation, do you tell people you're from Carlsbad or San Diego? I recently asked a co-worker if he's still in Diego and he said he is. When I asked what part, he said, "Carlsbad." I thought there was enough separation that Carlsbad would self-identify.
Usually depends on where I am. If I'm in CA, I'll usually always say Carlsbad. When I'm back in the real world I'll go with San Diego. We're close to 30 miles north of downtown but SD city limits extend pretty far north, about 7 or 8 miles from my house.
Hilarious that you say "real world." Our middle son lives in PB. Every time see go out, I look at him and say, " You don't love in the real world."
It's funny, because it's true. Depending on the context, the whole place is either La La Land or the Peoples Republic of California, however you want to look at it.
