I knew Ole Miss was in trouble but I never really read the NCAA charges before now. That is pretty serious stuff AND Ole Miss has apparently owned up to it. There are violations by multiple staffers which implicitly make a case for the dreaded LOIC charge. Even with a kinder, gentler NCAA Infractions Committee this looks to have post season ban written on it. JMO.

Peace

Rumor was Mark Richt was one coach who turned them in on Tunsil. UGA had led for nearly 2 years, told all our guys he was coming. OM wasn't even in the picture, 2 weekends before signing day he takes a trip to OM, stops accepting calls from our coaches and other commits. Richt went for schedule inhome that last week before signing day and was met by the entire family decked out in OM gear. As it turns out probably good for us he didn't come to UGA, apparently his hand was out the entire time.

Sounds downright Bridgewaterish doesn't it?

To tell the truth I didn't know Bridgewater had his hand out. I know he was basically begging UGA for an offer and no one could understand why would at least check his real interest. I can't say we were squeaky clean, but I think Richt was as far as him being involved in anything dirty

Didn't mean to imply that UGA recruited him or did any type of misdeed pertaining to him. The reference was to him looking at several schools then jumping on UL when Hurtt was hired. Doubt he even knew UL had a football team prior to that.

Yeah, I always thought his recruitment was fishy. I thought he was a lock for UGA and the only other program that even stood a chance was Bama, and we were a DISTANT second. Remember last year when Bo Scarbrough was suspended? Well, it was apparently because the NCAA was looking at his recruitment when he took a visit to Ole Miss. The word is that their boosters/bag men tried to buy him and would make it worth his while if he signed with them.

Louisville had recruited two kids from Bridgewaters high school the year before. Strong had great ties to high school coaches throughout Florida, and got numerous recruits from Florida. Teddy was plenty aware of Louisville, and his decision to go there turned out to be a very good one for him.

Never mind the Nevin Shapiro, Clint Hurtt, Bridgewater connections...

What the hell is wrong with you, can't you smell the stench from Louisville from where you are, you aren't out of state are you?

Now the OP can say "who cares, just win baby".

They are brushing this news aside and saying kids at rival programs will like about OM to get them in trouble. In this last class a kid we were recruiting, while on a visit to OM called our coaches and said he was coming to UGA and was about to leave the visit early but was going to tell his recruiting coach he was leaving first, 30 minutes later he was an OM recruit. Did they buy him, I don't know, but something caused a 180 in less than 30 minutes.

But on Tunsil, it even got Richt upset, I don't know 100% if he turned them in but he did file a complaint, looks like the stepdad did all the turning in when he was cut out of the chain.

Yeah, and Strong was plenty aware of what hurtt was doing across his state recruiting against him for the same recruits. hurtt had to carry on the slimiest recruiting in the history of college football to win the NATIONAL ROTY at the U with their history of cheating, tradition, beaches, AND proximity to the best talent in the nation, how in hell did he do it at a down program like Louisville a thousand miles from the beaches? He didn't have the help of the jailbird that took in NINE HUNDRED THIRTY THOUSAND dollars of the suckers money to help him either, but then with jurich in charge I'm sure that was no problem, has anyone come up with the football program that jurich was bidding against when he gave BP his $22,500,000 dollar contract?

The same way is the obvious answer, although he may have taken some pictures of the Ohio River beaches, where people aren't allowed to eat the fish.

Isn't it true that Bridgewater didn't even visit before committing, and how did his poor single hard working mother that he was so devoted to manage to get to ALL of his games?

I think it was mentioned on here too that Richt did have problems with Tunsil's recruitment. Who knows

Bridgewater said he didn't even know where Louisville was. I'm sure it was just Hurtt's excellent sales pitch that got him. It had nothing to do with Hurtt paying players.

UNC,can't be touched by the NCAA,so a lot of schools will be paying heavy for that.I'm sure a little money changing hands is a bigger deal than 20 years of fraudulent classes.

Before hookers (were known about), and before Hurtt got his show-cause. I can't decide if all UofL fans are complete morons, or just completely tone deaf.
