Midseason, they can only issue an interpretation bulletin. Official rule changes can only be made offseason. I'm not really sure what an interpretation bulletin can do without actually changing the rule. Either way, looks like a rule change here is inevitable. Whatever the rule change will look like, it will involve the offensive team having the option to put lost time back on the clock.

Fairly common sense change.

This obviously means the ''fake injury'' bending of the rules, which has been going on for a while, is ''too hot handle'' and will not be addressed.

They'll just remove away the time lost. It'll be treated as a pre-snap penalty under two minutes, at least.
