Most of us work for a corporation and the do all the work and the execs get millions and do nothing and i don't think the company is going to pay the line workers millions ! When your in high school you play to get a scholly from your dream school or any school. I just know i wished my kid had been good enough to get a athletic scholly.Would have saved me thousands of dollars.
You can also forget about getting a championship why the hell would a kid care to really play for one when all they have to do is play enough to get drafted and know their going to get paid in the end regardless of results.
I think there’s a difference between being a manager of a corporates branded retail store and one of 13 players that are the reason all of the fans care and the TV networks care enough to spend all that advertising money.
Walmart is a large corporation sure, but if a manager isn’t doing their job, there’s 1,000 other guys who can walk in and do it. They’re selling a product that people want anyway, they aren’t the product. Fans turn on the TV to watch a good basketball game. They aren’t turning on the Bellarmine game.
If Lamar Jackson got hurt in 2016, there isn’t a person on this earth that could replace him. Lamar being there and then the year he’s gone? 2-10 and fans going to the exits.
Money means everything in today’s college game. Tom realized it and look where we are now, ACC and all around best athletic program East of the Mississippi.
It’s just a greedy “get off my lawn attitude to say that “them darn kids are ungrateful, bringing in millions in revenue and wanting to get paid. Back in my day we walked both ways uphill to school and didn’t get paid! We got drafted to war!”
