Hate this for Pendleton. He’s done a phenomenal job up there and deserves better than this.
In wrestling we can’t complain because we are net portal gainers……but if the current pace keeps up of all American level talent transferring out early from these non power schools they will just throw in the towel. Looking forward to the contract era adding some structure to college sports.
We want OSU to be #1, but also don’t want the sport to be whittled down to 3 teams that matter and only 20-30 or so competing. Overall health of the sport matters - just not at OSU’s expense

Wouldn’t be heartbroken if a clause finds it’s way into NIL to compensate the “developing” program.
Hurts me to see him leave Oregon state, because he’s got dog mentality. Doesn’t realize when he is an underdog. That is an invaluable asset

Sounds like Iowa found their 197 for the year. 3x D3 champ and recent U23 Pan Am champ Massoma Endene is rumored to be committing. Last spring he committed to Wisconsin but then decided to go back to Wartburg (in Iowa).

A really interesting addition for Iowa. Dude has been a beast at D3.
Wells, Keller, and Soldano is a solid transfer class. It’s too bad McDougald and Wiley left. They’d have a pretty solid team.
Wells is also almost assuredly moving up to 141, main reason for him leaving Minny

Nick Stemmet and Andy Smith at u23s last year are his best d1 wins so far. He is wrestling at the open so we should know how he will stack up.
He just won u23 Pan Ams. Last year at U23 Nationals he beat Smith, Koholfer, and Stemmet and then he won in the finals by injury default to earn that spot. He then went 1-2 at worlds.
As far as folkstyle goes, wrestlestat does not show a single D1 opponent in his history.
Pump the brakes, Carter Young had some of the best freestyle wins possible. The transitive property of styles is not always accurate at the D1 level.

Being in Iowa’s room will only help. If you base an athlete ability to grow and improve, you have to like his potential

I don't know how well he does after a season ending injury. Shoulders take forever to heal and they are never the same afterwards.
