Put another way, OSU will be searching for, AND PAYING someone at that weight to be in the Cowboy RTC. Can’t think of a better fit than WH. And hard to see an Air Force Officer being anything but a positive in the room.

Hendrickson is a unique case in that he is more than a 1 year guy, as he would fill a role in the RTC as mentioned through the next Olympic cycle. This will be attractive to other heavyweights as they will have the opportunity to train with him.

This, and really Alirez as well are far from short term/1 year moves. You have to load your RTC with killers and that attracts to and enhances your college program, while giving your RTC Program international exposure.
I agree 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt DT is opposed, in principle, to throwing money at NIL. It is more a question of how he prioritizes his NIL money. Hendrickson is great and if we think we have a better than 10% chance of winning a team title next year, he is worth the money.

If DT sees next year as more of a development year, we are probably smarter to save that money and spend it on someone who can help the program (either as an athlete or in the RTC) more than just one year.
Doesn’t always work that way. Money is earmarked by individuals. If a booster is excited about getting a guy then he might give money for him. If we lose out on that guy that doesn’t mean the booster is willing to give money for someone else.

In the video, Hendrickson said it's a four year commitment, and the RTC and David Taylor were the main factors.

Taking advantage of the WCAP for the last three years at OSU as discussed earlier today. Those three years count toward his military service.
This is a real big deal. In the room for four years wow. OSU has a large military science program too, look for the military vehicles and aircraft on campus just south of GIA and the football stadium.

Well technically he said he’d for sure be there a couple years and then he might have to go back to USA wrestling in Colorado Springs

Oklahoma State is all the rage right now. Is this a riding the hype train play? Wyatt had said that he IS able to accept NIL,. so did that come into play here? Did DT possibly get a newly funded NIL war chest?”

Awesome pick up! This will definitely have a very positive impact on Merrill and Carroll also. These two young upcomers have a great person to learn from and roll with. Huge win for the RTC also!
Yeah he said on the pod that he’s able to train for the next cycle with the RTC of his choice after this last year of eligibility.

I’ve been less happy to be wrong never!

Hendrickson has been my favorite Wrestler for 3 seasons.

I heard what Michigan offered and I heard DT put the foot down about us paying the same. I’ve been a mouthpiece for the reasons why.

So, right now, I can only sum it up that there was either one hell of a sell job for other value or DT is being very smart about the long term abilities offered by OSU and how to market them to athletes?

Iowa would not shock me as they will pay more for a National Champion. For us, it will put a likely Redshirt AA freshman out of the lineup and maybe off the team for a one year lift when we will not compete for the national championship. If it is a bidding war, my gut feeling is DT would let him go. We should save our money for Bo Basset, Jax Forest, and Dee. That is the nucleus of an national champion team.
