The Doucet situation is interesting because he has the right personnel around him with DT and Hendrickson to get better, but his style is the opposite of what DT is looking for and you could see his frustration with Doucet and the lack of offense in the Air Force dual. So I wouldn't say 285 is a huge hole that must be filled because the weight does clears out and Doucet has a good chance to AA next year due to that. The question will be if the staff believes he can or has developed more offense and the ability to score more points. If he has then I'm guessing he starts next year. If he's the same old wrestler in the room we've been seeing in the past they will move on.
I think saying Doucet has a “good” chance to AA is a huge reach. Yes the weight clears out but his margin for error is extremely thin as he is so limited offensively.
He could just as easily win one or two and go out them ending up as an AA.

Iowa boards are more crazy. Swiderski from to OkST is a done deal apparently. Also one more poster said he heard both Cubans from ISU are moving on to OSU as well.
These rumors are funny as hell though. I'm gonna make list of all these for future entertainment.

A couple of people are saying that Swiderski lives a wild lifestyle. Obviously don’t know if that’s true or not but why would DT take him on if that’s the case?
He has quite the record, a lot are traffic violations, but he does have an OWI.
Ech has a checkered past as well. His charges were dropped, but he was accused of choking his wife back at Ohio St.

I remember back when the Iowa boards knew for certain that Dee was flipping to them or Iowa state (I want to say one guy claimed Dee had already silently flipped while in Ames).
There was serious movement on him flipping at one point. Lots of moving parts on that one.
DT had to re-recruit Dee pretty hard. Keeping Zo around was a huge part of that.

I do favor some of that John Wayne attitude and character as long as the saloon frequency and lawdog issues are kept in check! No distractions on the way to Saturday night in March.

I hope not. DT should go for guys who has the drive and also the discipline. Casey doesn't sound like that guy.

Hard disagree. You can get guys who are dawgs on the mat and still high character off the mat. Hendrickson is a great example. If Jordan Williams got the boot for his shenanigans, you can’t pursue a guy like Ech and maybe not Swid unless he’s decided to lay off the booze and apparently get an NIL deal with Uber

Just to be clear I don't have a ton of morals. The minute he transferred here and started winning matches I would be all in.
Problem is we’ve had several years of hearing that he does well in the room but then match time he clams up. Staff will have to judge not how he is in the room but how/if they think they can get him to open up.
They went after the kid who chose Michigan hard. They are looking for a HWY to come in.
About the only one I think I’d take a run at is Isaac Trumble. Maybe Jimmy Mullen from VT.
They didn’t go “hard” or he’d be coming here. Like I was saying (in a joking manner, but with truth) his camp reached out and we began discussions.
I’m pretty sure we had an agreement and then his coach made an ignorant tweet, then things changed quickly.
DT flew out to recruit him. Came down to us and Michigan. We pursued him and wanted him.
We can do without an AA heavyweight for a year as Ross just needs a redshirt year and we will have a winner. I would guess the two Cubans would be Echemeida and Bastida or Herrera that finished 5th at the Big 12. He looked good, but did not win that many matches. I think Herrera is a Freshman.
