I think most figured it out fast, he isn't an intended starter for DT. That being said, DT wouldn't have added him if he didn't feel he brought something to the table and wanted him traveling with the team also.

I'm a little surprised to be honest. I would think Ryder would want to win the spot and show Cael who he is. Instead, he moves on. I'm not mad about it bc I like our chances but I just expected a little more fight. I guess when a coach takes a guy in the portal that's supposed to be your spot the loyalty thing can leave a bad taste. I just hope he's not looking for the easy way out.

He is really close to Taylor. So if you think you can be a 4x AA why take the chance on beating out a sophomore who made the title match as a freshman? It’s kind of illogical not to transfer.

That's not completely true. I think.most reasonable posters saw Rocco come.in and wondered what the fallout could be.
You never now what happened leading up to all this. Maybe Cael was reacting or maybe Ryder reacted. Either way, it doesn't make sense to have two potential finalists at a weight in the same program for numerous seasons. As a PSU guy, hope Cael bet on the right horse.
These kids have a finite time to complete in college. Ryder skipped his senior year of HS so he could move to PSU to train.
If he lost his wrestle off to a kid who was an NCAA finalist than means he would not be active for 3 straight years.
I don’t think he is looking for an easy way out. I think he wants to wrestle. At some point, sitting the bench at PSU doesn’t help you develop. You need to compete.

They’ve quietly had a good week. They’ve managed to keep Drake and they’ve added Nasir and Jordan. Two multi year high end guys. They need a 197 but with Angelo coming on and PK/ Arnold fighting it out for 74… they’re a salty squad.

BT was in a nuts cut in the offense scenario and still kept people from scoring. He will be fine/ really good most likely.

This gives 3 dudes at two weights with multiple abilities to roster guys without losing much eligibility.
If we're looking at only next season, Iowa has a better roster currently and they're not done in the portal either. I think we're set up better for the future though.
