Whats everyones thoughts on Lorenzo Norman? Injured this season but in 2025 Hamiti only beat him 4-3 in Vegas and at NCAAs O'toole beat him 10-8. Had a win over Shane Griffith as a true freshman at CKLV in 24 and also beat Brayden Thompson that tourney 14-7. Has 3 years eligibility looks like and is a long lanky guy.
I would love him personally. Love to see what DT could do with him.

If OSU were in the transfer market, what are the most likely weights and who would be at play?

285- 1 year rental. Feldman would fit but some talk that PSU is interested.
184 - 1 year rental if Ryder is out after surgery and/or moves to 174 (doesn’t seem likely to me). Not sure of a difference maker senior or grad entering the portal here.
174 - Everybody would be in play in the following scenario ….Dee redshirts and Facundo moves to 165. There is no long term replacement at this weight unless Ryder moves down. That means freshmen through juniors are options. Again, not sure of a difference maker, like Minto, Steed or Simon Ruiz hitting the portal.

We just need one year of 184 while Ryder is nursing injuries, right?

Or we thinking, After rehab, Ryder is going to be 174 with 184 being open? If that is the case we will need a stud muffin portal player or HS 184. since I really doubt Mikey White can hold 184 for more than a year.
Why do you doubt that White can maintain 184? He's got a very good build for that weight.

Do Thompson and Robb still count as OSU? Could definitely see Hughes, Burton, McComas. Other sites generically throw out Ronnie and Routledge but I think there’s still a path for both and both are young enough that another non wrestling year in the room has upside. Could see Tagen pulling a second semester transfer if things don’t go his way at the start of the year.
Ronnie and Rutledge I feel stay. People forget how often injuries play a part in things. Thompson and Robb had an opportunity but had already were on the move obviously. Zack ended up wrestling but one never knows and there is nothing like wrestling in front of the crowds at GIA.

I can think of a number of other wrestlers I would not want to leave Stillwater. Like Dee, Cody, Dreshaun, the Raney's and Mike White. Saturday, I look forward to seeing Michael White wrestle Adam Waters. I hope White has been in Stillwater this week practicing.
Well, I think there are a number of guys who can do better with another year under their belt in Stillwater. Many will disagree but I like “the Ski” and Zack. I think Sprat and Facundo need to figure out things. Sprat used to be a Spark plug but he has changed his style becoming much more conservative. Also, He benefited last greatly having Thomas Gilman coaching him. Facundo needs to work on finishing his takedowns. I wouldn’t throw the baby out with the bath water yet.

He looked great when he wrestled Hamiti

I agree that Spratley seemed to attack less this year, except in the match when he really shouldn't have.. against Lilledahl he played right into his hands unfortunately.

I think we see Spratley reinvigorated next year. It will be his final season and he'll have Zinkin in the room pushing him

I'm hearing Iowa State has some serious competition for the Stanford transfers, and not from one of the schools you'd first suspect

I wouldn't lump Spratley in with Facundo.

I would definitely not compare Spratley to Facundo. Sparkey lost to last year's national champion (had to wrestle him twice) and this year's national champion at the tournament. Facundo was the worst performing wrestler on the team in my opinion at the tournament, given who he wrestled. He performed poorly at penn state at the national tournament when he wrestled there as well. I would be looking at that weight if I were Taylor.

You do realize he only lost two the last two national champs?

You just also realize 125 is probably the most paired weight of the ten. There were about a dozen guys who had AAd or had planted themselves in that tier be beating multiple AAs?

Facundo, I think he needs to be at 65.

I don't think Spratley was any worse this year. Now he didn't get a ton better either but he was basically the same which is really good. His win percentage and bonus rates where basically even as well.

That would be good get for them. They are stacked on the lower weights, if they can get better at higher ones, they can be formidable. And NDI will be fun.
