What a terrible decision, but I’m going to enjoy it. It’s going to be entertaining watching women’s sports in the future. The announcers and the teams are going to have to pretend that it’s a fair competition when everyone knows it’s not. The female empowerment crowd will have to admit that men are better at being a woman than women are (when it comes to sports). Most of them probably support this anyway, so I don’t see an issue here.

Hope they don’t share the same locker rooms lol

I don't care how people choose to express themselves, but this notion of gender, from a legal legitimacy perspective, is ridiculous. The question of one having a P or a V is relevant in certain situations, such as sports, healthcare, in some cases insurance, etc. Generally it's not relevant what kind of parts one has, and it's especially irrelevant what people "identify" as. I shouldn't be able to alter my legal credence based on my mood and how I choose to "identify" from one morning to the next. Nor should society be expected to follow my made up pronouns.

Just my two cents. This would be a disaster for female athletics.

I am a great believer there is no excuse to discriminate in any situation. But, it sure gets complex with sports and not just basketball. I agree the overall issue will be limited anyway but in those rare cases it could be unfair.

To me the best thing that could happen is that UK goes out and gets 13 top 100 boys high school players, say they are trans, then dominate the women's sport for the next few championships. :)

I agree 100 percent. Generally speaking I couldn't care less what gender another person identifies as. Good for them seeking happiness in life because 99.9% of the time it has absolutely ZERO impact on my life whatsoever....so who GAF unless you are just "one of those" Nazi Christians that feels the need to condemn anyone who is different or chooses a different lifestyle.
But this actually falls into the .01 percent of this issue when it does actually impact others. How do you tell someone that they must give up participation in all sports in order to be true to themselves? On the other hand, how do you tell your daughter she will ride the pine in a game or miss out on a scholarship because a dude decided to become a chick and is the better player?
At the end of the day.....This is a very complex issue with no way for everyone involved to declare victory.

I'm always curious if this is sarcasm or people truly believe this.
I do not know. How many would be willing to say they are female for a $250,000 worth of scholarships and entrance in a school they could not attend otherwise.

The current policy is that former-male athletes must be taking testosterone suppression meds for at least one year before competing as a woman. I really don’t think many males will get in line for that, no matter the value of the scholarship.

It’s just plain stupidity. I’m convinced 90% of the US population is just dumb. No specific basis like politics or anything else.....but just plain dumb. Look around.....watch and listen to people regularly. You will agree.
We don't often agree, but on that statement we are in agreement. I've told my son that 75% of the population are idiots, lol, but your 90% may be closer to the mark.

Our state legislature has passed a law banning it. No doubt our governor will sign it so I guess the NCAA will pull all tournaments and bowl games from our state. Which is fine with our residents. Hold the bowl games somewhere else. Anything that might slow down our growth would be a good thing. If people don't want to move here because we know the difference between a man and a woman. Fine
