Uneven officiating to end that Xavier/KSU game. Yeah, the KSU guy rightfully got whistled for a swipe, but then on the ensuing possession we had the KSU player get grabbed around the neck and then multiple hacks on the rebound. Tough ending.

And then you have retired NFL FOOTBALL ref Gene Steratore giving his useless and incorrect two cents...must be a great gig.

Thank you, I was not aware of that.

I would feel silly about my comments, but it's actually even sadder that he doesn't know what a loose ball foul is after 2 decades of experience.
He seemed to be referring to the second guy fighting for the ball but the only reason the ball was loose was bc the first guy reached in and clearly just hacked his arm which caused him to lose possession. Replay was very clear

Fair. I actually would have appreciated his NFL expertise if they ran the tape back 2 seconds prior and analyzed the blatant "horse-collar" foul on the KSU player driving to the hoop.

I do hate whining about refs deciding games (both RU and otherwise), but that was just a sh*tty and uneven way to end the game.

Doing a quick search, Gene Steratore reffed a few of our Big East games in our last couple seasons there in W vs St John in 11-12, 2012-13 W @ St John's and L @ Georgetown, and B1G games @ ILL 14-15, @ NW 15-16 with TV Teddy and Szelc that was 18-48 at half, 59-98 final, L @ Iowa 16-17, L vs Michigan in 2016-17, the W vs Wisc 17-18, W vs Minnesota in MSG 17-18. He was there for the loss @ Fordham vs Nick Honor game also reffed a Big East football game between BC and VTech in 1994.

Also led me to a link for this site that worst. officiating. ever. Thread in 2019 for the Rutgers ladies team.

Iowa State a fraud. Not a good looking start for those mid-tier Big 12 teams. We'll see how Kansas State and TCU do.

Big Ten improves to 4-2 with Purdue and Indiana still to come.
Super important for The B1G TEN in order to keep getting at least 8 teams invited to the NCAA Tournament.Starting in 2024 the B1G TEN will have two additional teams that will make it far more difficult to get a bid unless more than 64 teams are invited.

Did I hear that right? Creighton missed 16 straight 3s and were only down 3?

Tie game now

Watching Iowa State's offense, this must be what other fans feel like watching our offense sometimes.
