Here are the NCPreps.com football 1A poll for Week 3 of the 2022 high school football season.

1A

1. Mitchell (2-0)

2. Tarboro (1-1)

3. Robbinsville (1-1)

4. Mount Airy (1-1)

5. Pender (2-0)

6. Thomasville (2-0)

7. Eastern Randolph (1-1)

8. Andrews (2-0)

9. Southside (2-0)

10. North Rowan (2-0)

Only two far west teams are in the top ten, unless your counting Mitchell.
For what it's worth I would have MA and Robbinsville switched as of now.

Robbinsville play #23 state ranked Asheville and was driving to take the lead under a minute to go. We lost but I thought we would move up a lot. We went from 155 to 145th in the state. Then we beat Brevard which was ranked around 160th and we jumped all the way to 100th. Go figure.

Who cares. if east is the number 2 team in 2a and the number 26 team in the state then someone seen something totally different than what i saw Friday night. they are pretty good , not trying to take anything away from them but that's a little much

I agree. They are big and qb is good when he has time. Only reason they jumped to #2 is 3 and 4 both lost but to real good teams. Polls are nice but I don't put faith in them this earl in season. We all know Tarboro is #1 until another 1a team beats them.

I agree. But it’s fun to argue about who’s ranked above who.
As far as Tarboro not being number 1 - I get why they dropped but I’m still not convinced there’s another 1A team in the state better than them.

Yes this is a message board so why not talk about whatever as long as its football including polls. All in fun. I agree with you.

Mount Airy Matched up with East Surry real well. ES scored a TD in each Qtr in the first half and made their extra point and shut out MA. Mount Airy scored a TD in each of the last 2 Qtrs but missed their first extra point in Qtr 3 forcing them to go for a 2-point conversion in the 4th Qtr, which they did not make to force an OT and shut ES out in the 2nd half. With 3 starters out this could have been a different game. Prayers the 3 starters are not hurt bad and will return in the next couple of weeks. I as many others can't see them dropping or changing places with Robbinsville. both 1-1. East Surry moved up in 2A with a 2-point win over a 1A school. Go figure, LOL...

Until Tarboro loses in the playoffs they are the best 1A team in the state. Much respect with what they have going on

You guys pulled away from NS..but from most accounts..you struggled with them...rivalry or not..you ended well..but the game was close for a lot of the game..i heard....you also gave up more points to them than an unranked West Stokes team... MA will handle business in 1a for sure though..

He has Watauga by 11 over Mitchell Friday. Polls mean zilch this time of year or any time for that matter as the game is played on the field and that determines the real "poll". With our injury issues I would guess we will drop out of the top 10 within 2 weeks. But that doesn't take into account the heart and effort of the healthy hosses. :)
