When you look at this ranking, you can see the definite difference between a poll and ratings, such as Calpreps, Massey or any other ratings model. For example, this poll has Grimsley at 2, whereas Calpreps has them at 18 and Massey has them at 6. In this poll Cardinal Gibbons is nowhere to be found, but Massey has them at 15 and Calpreps at 5. One could think..."well Cardinal Gibbons is 0-2. Yes they are, but look at who those losses were against...Chambers and Bergen Catholic out of New Jersey.

I've been calling for Coach Beal to be a HC somewhere. He's that good. I think he just loves being a DC and working with Todd Willert. You put them together along with Coach Horton the OC and EF has had the same staff for about 10 years. In today's game that's unheard of with how coaches move around

Yea, New Bern has definitely gotten my attention. I tried finding the New Bern/New Hanover game on NFHS and Youtube but I can't find anything. It's hard for me to properly judge the team.

Good barometer test this week against a VA 5A team. We had high expectations going into this year so I’m not shocked at what I’ve seen thus far but I’m still surprised by the NH/Butler score. Thought NH would hang in there for 2 quarters with Butler wearing them out in the 2nd half.

I was surprised but happy about the NHHS / Butler score.

I know the Cats are breaking in a new QB and I think they only had 100 yards of offense against New Bern.

Two of Butler’s scores were pick 6”s so NHHS must have handled Butler’s offense.
Not real sure what to make of the gamer. I certainly hope NHHS is better than what they showed against New Bern. .

We were breaking in a new QB also which was evident by the 3 turnovers in the 1st half. Our DL is incredible led by the 4 star DT but we’ll get a better feel for the squad after the trip to Norfolk this Friday.
