Funny how we are run down for losing to Davie but get no credit for beating Tabor. We also handled Grimsley pretty easily in a scrimmage and I believe they are still playing as well.
I acknowledged the victory against Tabor.
But you lost me when you brought a scrimmage into the argument.

Seriously who have SWE beaten thats still playing??

Strength of schedule is a joke. Only team SWE has played and still in the playoffs is Tarboro who beat SWE by 21. Everybody else SWE has play is home after 2 rounds.

ND has played 2 teams that are still alive and well in the playoffs.

I still contend ND is battle tested and this wont be as close as others think

Those teams ran into powerful teams in the second round, as opposed to the practices that Ledford, Tabor, and even ND and us have had. Trust me, if the teams that we played that were eliminated already had to play the brackets that your opponents faced, then they would still be playing too.
Dont count the strength of your team based on the round your opponents reached. Brackets are entirely different. Case in point: ours. Everybody knew the 2AA east was a three horse race, with us, y'all, and Ledford. But the 2A east was a complete monster. So comparing who's still playing is the real joke. Lets not forget, Tabor was only a 7-4 regular season team. Good, but not spectacular.

I think we could have replaced North Davidson in the east bracket with our #6 team in the CCC (oak grove) and they would have also beaten First Flight and Cummings.
Can’t wait to head to Pinetops on Friday night!
Where should we grab dinner in the area?

Your best bet will to be to stop in Rocky Mount to find something. Once you pass Rocky Mount theres not a lot of options until you get to Tarboro.

BEFORE you get to Pinetops. Really, the place is desolate. Two stoplights. And to top that off, the school has a Pinetops address, but it's in the country. If it werent for the field lights, it would be pitch dark out there.

I read in your local paper that the team will be making a stop at Knightdale High School for a quick walkthrough and to stretch the legs. What time is the bus pulling out?

That would make sense... Knightdale’s Head Coach, Anthony Timmons is a North Davidson Alum.

I don’t know what time they’ll leave, but I’m thinking it’ll be around lunchtime.

The consensus is that Ledford's success is because of their defense, and that their offense is pedestrian at best. North Davidson's defensive numbers look just as good, if not better, than that of Ledford's. Are the high points due to getting the ball frequently and in good field position, or is the offense pretty good in its own right? SWE is balanced on both sides of the ball. The offense is the bread and butter of the team and is more of the reason for program success over the last decade plus. But our defense is not bad at all. We can get to the qb and our deep coverage is decent, with numerous interceptions this season. Quick short passes would give us fits though. Run defense is stout and only Tarboro has busted big gainers on us. Im sure your coach watched that film, although replicating Tarboro's offense is like trying to recreate earth. We have struggled with getting off the field on 4th down attempts a few times lately though. We are a run oriented team and we do it well. Speed kills and we love to use it to get to the outside. If your area doesnt have teams that utilize the misdirection, then you're in for a treat. Get ready to wonder who has the ball. We only have one receiving threat, but he's a tall high jumping one. Jump balls are the key. Just throw it high and he'll get it.
Its so hard to gauge this one because neither team has played many great teams. We played two great teams and ND played one. But the rest of the teams for both have been just OK to not so good. We are going see who's really as good as their record says they are, and I cant wait.

We’ve got to get thru Raleigh before 4pm so we don’t get hung up in traffic. Rocky Mount is our stop. Well have some time to have a good sit down meal. Anyone got a good suggestion?
I would stop in Nashville then. There's a mc Donald's, Bojangles and a Ribeyes steak house right off 64. I think they may have opened a burger king over there too, not sure though. Rocky Mount sucks, it is a **** hole of epic proportions. The only fast food restaurant I go to in R.M. is chic fila.

Yes. Don't let Rocky Mount fool you. It's such a wannabe city. It's so dirty, shady, and dangerous. I'm black, and I think it's too ghetto. There is one 2 mile strip for shopping and eating that your travels will have you crossing on the highway. If you do decide to venture off hwy 64 once you get into Rocky Mount, don't go too far. Keep it in your sights. Everywhere else away from the highway is a dump.

Though Ledford and Mt Tabor are both excellent, I would say SWE has played the best team in Tarboro. Many folks who really know high school football say Tarboro is probably one of the best 12 teams in the state at any classification! Pretty stout

Checked the weather. It's not projected to be bone chilling. 55 at 8pm. Hopefully that will translate into a packed house tonight. We travel well, but sometimes home games against unfamiliar opponents when it's cold keep the student population of the crowd at home. Those that use the games as social events but know nothing about sports don't understand the magnitude of what's at stake and definitely wouldn't come out in 30 degree weather to see us play North Davidson. No disrespect intended.

Simmons Ratings are out. He has SWE by 1. Since home team gets a 2 point home field advantage, I guess on a neutral field, it would be ND. You can't ask for a better matchup. Lets keep it rolling Edgecombe!

Hope so, but the trend shows it's about time for us to lose. The third round has never been kind to us.

Well I'll throw some disrespect! These are YOUR friends, YOUR sons, YOUR neighbors on the field! They represent your school. They do it with class and they have mad skills. Get your asses out to the game and give your team some love! I have noticed this all year that SWE had a great team but for some reason, the fans just weren't showing up. This team has a chance to do what no other has done in school history! Don't let them down! Get a coat and some hand warmers and get out there! Be the 12th man you claim to be and cheer them to a championship!

At North we have a student section called Brutal Black that comes in numbers to every game, they are really into the game. The students who aren't a part of this and walk around all games dwindle slowly as the each week gets colder.

North's offense struggled against good defenses. North's defense is very stout.

We left a lot of plays on the field against Ledford. Missed 2 field goals, poor execution in the red zone and had a TD called back. We are as healthy as we've been all year. We have speed in multiple receivers and I think this running back up from JV will get touches. He really impresses me.
