I got home from the OG Salisbury game in time to hear one of the ND coaches interviewed on the Knights Sports Network. I'm not sure which one, but he threw the players under the bus, said that there was no problem with the x's and o's and that the players just didn't execute. It may be true, but it sounded bad.
He’s right in the sense of dropped balls, fumbles, missed kicks, etc.. But as Dean Smith (the greatest basketball coach ever) said, “I’ll take the losses and you guys can have the wins”.I got home from the OG Salisbury game in time to hear one of the ND coaches interviewed on the Knights Sports Network. No doubt. I had Carolina with 76 yards and a TD in the 3rd!Carolina down for Thomasville. He’s been the difference on offense.
Totally!Sack at the 30. North has no timeouts. They stopped the clock with 17, ran it back to 25 seconds. Game should be over. That’s ridiculous!
Agree!Good win and a good ballgame. ND got four timeouts and a called out of bounds that was a few feet short at the end to extend the clock but the Dogs held to get the win.
See I thought was the only one that noticed the ridiculousness of ND fans. Also can’t believe a coach would say that. Coaches should always take the blame for the ugly and let the kids have the pretty. But it’s no surprise about with the leader of that coaching staff in welcome.I’m off to see all the ND fans on facebook complain about how the refs stole it from them...
It is quite entertaining.

Thanks for giving me reason 242 why I gave up Facebook three years ago. Always good to be reminded. Best decision I’ve made since I married my wife.I’m off to see all the ND fans on facebook complain about how the refs stole it from them...

Nut, I believe that North has the better team. But Thomasville’s kids kept their composure and took advantage of North’s mistakes. They kept their cool, even when that clock madness toward the end favored North.Wow. What a great game. Observations:
The good: Thomasville. They have a great group of kids that never quit. They got down 14-0 and just kept fighting. They played MUCH better and definitely deserved the win.
The bad: on the opposite side we have North. They seemed to want to coast after the good start and never finished. Four missed field goals, one of them basically an extra point. Fumbles and interceptions, credit Thomasville for causing those. But the bottom line is you can't win playing like that. No excuses, Tville did what was required to win and North crapped their pants. The defense actually played pretty well. After the first two drives the offense did not.
The ugly: North fans. I say this every year but North fans are the WORST wine and cheesers of all time. No excitement. No emotion until the very end of the game. Always complaining about coaches and refs. And one dude was glad when one of our own players got hurt. What a joke lmao!
I'm not mad about the game at all. I enjoyed my Cushwa Dogs and saw a good game where the better team that executed won.
North now has to win out to make the playoffs. That will in all likelihood not happen.

Frankly, I thought the crowd was a little sparse for both schools. North didn’t execute well in the second half, but you can’t fault the effort of either group of kids. If a coach threw the kids under the bus, they may want to spend a little time staring at the mirror tonight.

The Dispatch pointed out something I saw at the time, but thought I imagined. North throws an incomplete pass, with the 30 yard line as the line of scrimmage. The ref places the ball at the 25 and ND misses a 42 yard field goal for the tie.
Not a good night for the stripes.
I noticed that too. Weird math all night lol.
Not to mention being awarded a fourth timeout in the second half. Watching North’s JV and middle school team play, the skid will continue for a few years.
I thought it was weird when they called a timeout before that because I thought it was their last one.
The talent is not ever going to be what it once was. Midway and certain parts of Arcadia, including where I grew up, go to OG now. I'm not saying there won't be years where North has talent but it won't be overwhelming like it was.
I don't really try to project from middle school and JV. Two years ago the same players on varsity this year won their JV games by an average of 38 points. Middle school and JV ball are completely different. Plus on the 2A and 1A levels if a sophomore or freshman has talent he's more likely to already be on varsity anyway. Just my opinion.
I have mixed feelings. The weekly gate in 1A would likely be abysmal. No real rivals and probably little competition in conference. Long travel that will compound the problem.Agreed. The positive for THS is that they are a school of 645-650 and likely will be 1A in two years. So with that said to be back to competing and beating much bigger schools is a huge positive. This Dogs team in 1A would go deep into the playoffs.
