Yes, very impressive. First time in school history. I was and still am a HUGE fan of Brown and thought he did fantastic here with what he had to work with. Guy was always a step ahead and more organized than most could imagine.

Hes exactly what a program like UK needs: a proven winner that can get the job done here who wont leave for greener pastures. Brown is die hard UK to the bone.

The only chance i could see UK being able to keep a coach who won big here is someone like Neal; grew up here, played here and has a lot of family here.

Neal has a legit shot at playing in a New Years Day Bowl. Would be awesome if he did!

Neil Brown will be the next coach at Kentucky. The only question is when.

Personally I'd surround him with a top notch staff, an elite experienced D.C. and promote Marrow to associate HC and ditch Stoops.

We know this is one guy that Mitch does really like. Grew up in KY, went to UK and coached at UK. Let's just hope we don't go the route of Claiborne and get him after the fact or Schnellenberger and never get him if Neal is a great option for us at some point.

Hmm might he be that same Neal Brown that most of you ran out of town on a rail? Yea, Im sure he will be more than happy to roll back into that. He has a good football team which can compete in a decent conference. He would throw that all away for???? Uhuh.

He's already accomplished more than Stoops and Joker

Joker's team was ranked 6 while OC. Stoops had top defenses everywhere and was a big reason FSU had their big run.

Also, he took over a program with good tradition a solid recruiting grounds and plays in a much weaker conference. Easier to what he has done when you are in a league where you have been one of the top dogs as opposed to one where you have been one of the weakest. Not taking away from Brown. He has done a nice job. He has proven to be much better at head coach than Joker for sure. But not Stoops.

FYI...l had a conversation with someone very close to NB and he was forced to make the decision he made , but it wasn't because of the fans.

So, you are stating Neal can transition from winning in a small conference to the SEC and steamroll his way to football immortality? I give Neal all congratulations on his success. Yet, once again your opinions are so far off the realm of reality that reading your posts are entertaining at best.

But Neal can't bring in 30-40th ranked recruiting classes like Stoops can..you can have your Brown's, Petrino's, Leach's and McIntyre's..give me the coach who can bring in 40th ranked recruiting classes and in 20-25 years we'll get to our ultimate goal of a 7-5 record (that is if the SEC East isn't completely loaded at the time..which it likely will be)

As Stoops and Mitch have informed us, it's about Jimmy's and Joes, not X's and O's..if we hired someone like Neal we might drop from being ranked 12th in SEC recruiting down to 13th :(

I like coach brown, but he also has 30 junior and seniors in the two deep. This isn't a team he completely built himself. Had a good year but a lot can change in the next two years also.

All smoke screens designed to incite posters.
Believe what you want, I have attended EVERY game this season and no reason to be untruthful to incite anyone. Just some things folks like you don't want to hear. CMS has a certain criteria the way he wants the offense to be run as far as schemes go. He is in seventh heaven with Gran.

Probably some truth to it. Not saying it's right or wrong, but Gran was in the top 10 for plays per game at Cincy and is #91 this year. Dawson is #9 this year and was #97 last year at UK. Stoops definitely likes to slow down the tempo.

I have been to every home game the last 2 years. Doesn't make me an insider. And, for the 1000th time, EVERY coach has a certain way he wants to run BOTH sides of the ball. It is the OCs job to carry that out.

He likely took a pay cut.
But gained a head coaching job at a school he had already been at before. Most coaches want to be head coaches. Even if they have to take a pay cut to do so. It isn't like he can't feed his family now.

Numbers don't always tell the story. We haven't had a QB to do that, Nor an oline in order to be able to run things the way they want to. A great coach adjusts. Which is probably why Stoops is much happier with Gran as he has shown to be able to adapt.

Tempo is not the way to go when you don't have outstanding QB play. Ask Gran or Brown. Let up on Stoops as far as slow tempo this season is concerned.

Mark Stoops= Les Miles...not going to change his stripes
I just disagree. I think he courted Brown and Dawson because he respects the potential that pace holds as a weapon. He's just determined not to have the pace of the offense work against the defense. If the only thing the offense is in a hurry to do is get off the field, it is crippling for the defense. Period. If Gran can deliver an irresistible balanced attack at pace, I think he will be allowed to roll with it. In fact, we move at a fair clip at times right now when in the Wildcat, by design. However, the play count does not climb because the click runs so steady. Trying to move at pace with a crap passing attack is what he is consciously avoiding, and for good reason. I think Coach Gran is 100% on board with that this season, and that both hope to run a much different offense ASAP.
