Even the best programs lose an occasional mid week game, but we have struggled big time to get to 500 in these types of games over the last few years. Glad to see us avoid stubbing our toe unnecessarily.
Good to see the bats working better today than the past two outings.
Now let's go stick it to Iowa.

Blizzard? They are playing it safe/smart I think. Cold with 20-35%chance of snow for part of day it looks like.
Not much snow for Sunday. The high winds and cold would not make for a fun day at the ballpark.

We have scored More runs against ranked teams and won this year.it always amusing me when Clueless people post .
I'm not expecting great things from the Huskers this year, but 20 runs in a 3-game series isn't exactly quiet.

Clueless? My son is going to play college ball... All I am saying is you can't play down to the other team. Maine's starting pitching is going to be some of the worst we see on weekends. That is a fact not an opinion. So if it takes till their relievers come in to win the ball game there are issues. I guarantee you coach is concerned just as I am. Get out of here with that "clueless" people post. I guarantee I am sufficient enough in my knowledge to make the claim I did.
Agree. It’s baseball. Maine is bad but they took 1/3 from Duke. The biggest concern with this team appears to be a bullpen that is questionable at best, and can’t throw a strike at worst.
How'd we do against Maine's starters?
I'll assist... That isn't good considering the competition. The boys need to get better.

Can’t play down to the other team? It literally happens every day in sports and wherever your son is playing college ball at I guarantee his team will play down to their competition at some point.

Wow that never happens in college baseball.
I know that happens, but Maine starters aren't supposed to be holding NU to 1 run in 5 innings.
Their starting pitchers that held us to 2 runs and 1 run vs Dayton <- not necessarily world beaters

Do you guys watch baseball? The difference between a good day on the mound and a band day on the mound is minuscule at best. Especially if you are not walking people.
The difference from giving up 1 run in 4 innings compared to 6 runs in 4 innings can be one pitch being off...or ground ball taking a weird hop.

The Big Ten postseason tournament, featuring 12 teams, will have a new look this spring.
The first three days of the tournament will feature double-elimination brackets, pairing eight teams seeded No. 5-12. Four games will be held on Tuesday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 20, and two games contested on Thursday, May 21, to produce four qualifiers.
The four advancing teams will face seeds No. 1-4 in single-elimination quarterfinals on Friday, May 22. Semifinals take place Saturday, May 23, followed by the championship game on Sunday, May 24.
The Bum 10 is changing the tournament format again, Nebraska should aim for a top 4 seed now
