Did the Georgia Southern LB do anything? I realized after the game I never needed to look up his number, which isn't good for a LB.
I believe he is #33. He didn't look very good in the snaps I saw him. I think him and Shavers play the same position, if so Shavers should be playing the majority of the snaps, he's one of only a few on the defense that bring some significant physicality.

The scheme seemed completely different from Tony White's. Not sure what they're doing up front but it seems like they're doing more 2 gapping instead of one gapping. We don't have TY and Nash to do that, if you going to rely on quickness then you need to be disruptive by shooting gaps and fitting with the LBs and safeties. Just seems like the d-line coach and then linebackers coach is on two different pages.

The talent level is low. Matt is a smooth talikng scam-artist. Dylan is not the talent we had thought. Dana is caught up in a dated offense that was relevant 15 years ago. Matt wants to hire (Butler lol) crappy assistant coaches, and whatever else crap, and people wonder why this program is in the position that it is in. Well, I just summed it up for everyone who is afraid to tell it like it is.
Your pithy commentary is as regular as crotchrot after night in Bangkok. HBK told me all about that shite.

Cincy completed 13 passes for 69 yards. How much could hartzog have struggled?
This I all I have to say on this matter. You are correct sir, Hartzog was targeted the majority of the game and did extremely well. On top of that the "Derp Man" himself @anon17440239 and many others in here are starting the narrative that our run defense game is the weak link. While in this game is definitely was, and I think for the most part it was our scheme and how we defended.

If you look at Sorsby's passing stats from last year we shut down his arm, in turn opening up rushing lanes for him. Every team we play we will have a different game plan, and one thing we do will look like it needs some work and some things we will look great in.

We won the game and and also controlled the Time of Possession

Here is Sorsby's passing stats... I feel like we did just fine

Then another stat that proves we controlled the game

A win is a win and even though the score was a 3 point win we still were the better team and played to our game plan. I think Michigan is going to give us trouble, because they have a mobile quarterback.

Many of us have been voicing concern in the off season about the defensive line. You and I were voicing those concerns a lot. And it seems those concerns were legit. I agree that RVP looked better last year when he was in for a few snaps and paired up with better players. The problem is we need to win this year. We can’t afford to have a weak defensive line. I like your suggestion of moving someone from the offensive line to nose tackle. But how feasible is that? And Rhule probably won’t do it anyway.
And why does Rhule overhype his players so much?? Referring to our line as “hell on wheels” is just silly
Big Mac I think tried DL as a freshman. He’s a load to move. The question when he signed was which side he would play. I guess if they thought he would help, they would do it.

The defense did the job, this game wouldn't have been remotely close if the offense had finished. Should have scored more, period.

No he didn't do **** and all the hype looks like he needs to pick up his level of play. Actually the entire defense needs to pick up their level of play because a team with a pulse will beat our *** like a drum. We clearly do not have the players the top tier teams do and it's time to change that ****.

I don’t know about that. I will leave it up to the coaches to make the best personnel packages. And I didn’t pay much attention to George. I focused on RVP when he was in because I thought he would be good. He wasn’t good at all. Very disappointing and does not give me much hope with regard to our depth
Don’t give up yet with RVP. Maybe he wasn’t feeling well that day. He is a good player and give him a little more time to recover and learn from his mistakes. He’s only a sophomore. And he’s taking a huge responsibility to replace Nash an Ty. That a huge mountain to climb.

Isn't it strange that people can judge players by one game and say they suck. I think all that's needed is some shuffling of players and assignments in games. I know that we had some players in the last game on the DL that seemed lost and outclassed for what ever reason and it was quite shocking but I'm not throwing in the towel after one game. My hope is that our DC and DL coach will make the appropriate adjustments going forward.
Totally concur with you. The biggest improvement is between first and second game. This week will be a perfect time to iron out the wrinkles. GBR
