No points in first half. Hmmm...

Defense is OK but their offense - further indictment of our D. Hope we figure out changes during bye week

Maybe coach JON will watch Michigan-Rutgers tape and tell the ‘d’, “let’s do whatever the hell it was Michigan did there.”

Yeah, obviously we're not Michigan..., but Nebraska looked like they were playing an FCS team against us on that side of the ball (their offense/our defense). That's the problem.

Have to change that or we won't beat anybody.

UNL had 133 yards of total offense and zero points in the first half.

I know Fitz is watching to scout UM… and asking himself the same things we are. That’s the only solace I take in having watched some of that crapfest.

I’m done watching college football for today. Turning on “The Last of the Mohicans” for a long overdue rewatch. You’re all on your own.

Nah he'll do that next week but he'd better prepare for RU right now, or there will be a Noah Vedral for Heisman campaign next Saturday night

Why do you insult FCS teams like that?

Not kicking an easy FG on their first possession of the game looks bad in retrospect for Frost. Take the points early.

Gonna give Nebraska some credit for showing a lot of fight in the 2nd half, but they are who we thought they were.

The only 2 games where their offense was dominant was against us and Fordham.

Nebraska is going to be 6-6 at best and they beat us down by the largest margin of Fitz’s coaching career. Great. Thanks JON!

Worst possible scenario. Michigan slithers out with a win. Nebraska gets to feel legit. I did get a little schadenfreude reading Nebraska post game comments. To wit:
Overall, Nebraska showed us that we’re a Top 25 team and can hang with the top dogs, it’s just that we find ourselves losing in key situations where we find another ******* way to lose here. I do think that Nebraska will find a way to upset a team that is badly needed in such a long time, but it just sucks that we can’t overcome our own issues to find a way to win. Overall, in the end, I ******* hate losing in heartbreakers by one possession yet again.

If they're still looking for moral victories in year 4 of Frost... I don't even know what to say.

They still have Ohio State and Iowa on the schedule and could miss a bowl game for the 5th straight year. Guess we'll see.

From what I’ve seen from Krinschuk (sp) , Young, and Paceho, NU will get chunked for big gains next Saturday. Good thing they D is marginal.

I wouldn't mind a moral victory or two at this point.

They had better not.

Pacheco averages 3.8 ypc.
Young averages 3.9 ypc.
Cruickshank has six carries for 30 yards. The best of those three at 5.0 ypc.

They do have one player with an impressive average named Wright-Collins. He had a 21 yard run each against Temple and OSU, but didn’t play against Sparty.

If our run defense struggles again next Saturday… we’re in trouble PBC.

Illinois???????
The defense that we played against Nebraska would probably cause us to most of the teams on the schedule; though I suppose Illinois is on the level of Duke so who knows, maybe we beat them anyways like in 2019.

I'd say Illinois is measurably worse than everybody else left on the schedule, and then you have teams like Minny/Purdue that are beatable, and then a step above that are teams like Wisconsin and Rutgers that are perhaps also beatable but just appear to be playing more sound football than we are.

Obviously, we hopefully never play defense like that again, but that remains to be seen.

I'm hopeful we see some changes because nobody wants to see that disaster again, but it's just hard to say what can/will actually change because it's not exactly clear what % of the problem is scheme vs execution.

I'm just not convinced we can execute defensively in a way that works if our players are continually not in position to make plays when and where they need to be.

Our players just don't look all that different (except maybe at LB) from what we've historically had under Fitz, especially the past couple of years when we had an elite defense every year.
