Nebraska has serious dudes at LB and at a few places in the secondary.

I’m pretty sure they will cover like crazy in games they are favored.

Wouldn't the best outcome at that point be that we score a TD, get the 2pt conversion (up 7 now) then we get a pick 6 on their ensuing drive and win by 14?

Ohio isn’t chopped liver though. I think we win a close one
Ohio lost a LOT of players on offense:

QB1, RB1, RB2, WR1, WR2, TE1, K1

Top two leading tacklers and several starters on both sides.

If Nebraska doesn't treat these guys like their prison bltch, it will be an ugly season.
And I believe their hotshot head coach got kicked to the curb for banging coeds and boozin in his office.

Yawn. Nebraska is currently a 24 point favorite.
Based on what info? A team that finished last year being blown out in its last three games, two of the teams had interim coaches, has to replace all of its offensive production and didn't get better on a bad defense?

Based on the current sports betting lines found at any reputable book. If you think it’s going to be a one point game coming down the stretch, I’d wager everything you own on Ohio.

Last year’s results have no bearing on the opening game vs Ohio. Vegas loves dolts like you.

Again, a game result from four years ago has no bearing on the upcoming Ohio game.

It’s really very simple, you don’t believe Nebraska is going to cover a 24 point spread. You even have reason to believe Ohio might win outright. I hope you make a few bucks on your Ohio picks.

I didn’t know that about their coach. Even so, we also lost some of our most productive players from last year
But Ohio also:
Won 40 games in the last 4 years
Has won 7 straight bowl games
Beat UNLV and Colandrea last time out, holding them to just 10 points
And most importantly
They have Danny Langsdorf on their coaching staff

We did? Besides Emmitt who are all these losses?
We have one of the most experienced teams in the B1G this upcoming season.

No they haven’t won 7 bowl games in a row, they’ve won 4 bowl games in a row.

Tim Albin is at one time Nebraska graduate assistant. He has lead the Bobcats to 3 straight 10 game winning seasons.

Ohio offense has 1 returning starter. There QB hasn't started since 2024 and he wasn't good (45% completion.) There OL has little to no starting experience. Defensively they return only 4 starters and have a little more experience than the offense does. This game won't be close.

If we don’t beat them by 3 TDS it could be a really long season.

We lost our leading rusher, our leading passer, our two leading tacklers, our leader in interceptions and our stud kickoff returner?.

They are 7-0 in bowl games in the last eight years?

Tim Albin isn't their coach?

Tim Albin is not their coach. Many would say losing our leading passer is a huge positive. Frank had built a system and passed it down to Albin who may very well have been a better head coach had he stayed. The portal has broken their model.

I was replying to someone who said Albin was their coach. He’s not. Why he went to Charlotte is anyone’s guess.

We did lose a lot of production. There is zero guarantee that Coleandrea is an upgrade from Raiola. We will see in time.

and as someone else pointed out, we have Rhule as our coach and I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but we’ve kinda sucked lately and I don’t think we are in a position to take any of our opponents lightly.

You put a question mark after “Tim Albin isn’t their coach?” That implied you were asking. Other than that I’ll give you your points. I still say if we can’t beat by 3 TDs an Ohio team at home which is now losing most of their best talent to the portal every year, we are in trouble.

CONTEXT. It was part of a larger conversation

A: Tim Albin is their coach
B: Tim Albin isn’t their coach?

In this case, Person B is alerting Person A that Tim Albin isn't their coach.

They won 4 consecutive bowl games they didn’t play in bowl games in 2021 and 2020.

I read Phil Steeles prediction of the MAC and assumed he was their head coach and found out he left for Charlotte to coach. My bad.

How about Akron?

Vegas is right way more than they are wrong.
I know, I am more equating this season to Frost's last season where the wheels were coming off. This season has a similar vibe with a disappointing end to last year, losing our main qb and rb production, and having a terrible defense. Introducing new coaches used to be a real problem, especially on the lines where consistency and development are super important. Our new coaches are even less likely to suceed because Rhule is a control freak and won't let them have any sort of credit. I guarantee if the defense is awesome the fan base will be calling for Aurich to be the head coach.

Huskers are 24.5 favorite.
Easy money. That means our offense scored more than 30 and held them to less than 7? Really? At best the line should be 14-17...we aren't going to dominate on both sides of the ball, that is what you need to do to win by four scores.

Save the juice. I'll take that bet. How about you take Ohio +14....and I'll take NU for a $100 donation to the charity of each other's choice.
