Per google ai— “
Historically, teams that knock off a No. 1 seed (specifically No. 16 seeds)
almost always lose their next game, often struggling to replicate the historic upset performance. In the two instances a 16-seed won, UMBC (2018) and Fairleigh Dickinson (2023) both lost in the subsequent round. “

granted we are not 16

We are NOT a 16. 8s and 9s have won the next game. It is also a rivalry game but I am sure we will be heavily outnumbered.

going to be a very tough high to come down from. I'm glad we're playing a team we're familiar with.

Yes, Iowa lost in Lincoln, but they forced OT.

So, partial credit.

Gonna be a crazy game and atmosphere on Thursday night.
If we don’t count overtimes, we have one win and one tie against the team out west.

No bigger high than Nebraska’s. They’ve literally never been here as a program. I’d say there’s zero advantage in the “need to come down from a big game” department.
