Need gun advice...

I know there was already a previous gun thread but needed some specific advice if possible

Looking for a .380 for my wife and debating between a Ruger LC, S&W Bodyguard or a Beretta Pico.....all smaller and easier to handle for her.

Any input welcomed and if you have something different to add, feel free

You really want some advice? .380s are for pussies, even for a chick. Tell her if she wants to pack heat, then she needs to learn how to handle a 9.

If she needs any help, just @ me. YWIA.

Grab her a Glock43. Shell never have to clean it, easy to take down and learn. And you’ll get the dependability you need.

If it doesn’t fit her hand right just get her a talon grip. Cheap and fixes the issue.

I have a S&W Shield 9mm and she thinks it's too heavy, etc. That's why I mentioned the others previously because of the better fit....I know Glock has a 'baby' Glock but it's almost like the Shield...

Do Sigs have a smaller model?

I would recommend taking a look at the Sig P238. Basically a mini version of a 1911. Wife has small hands and it is a perfect size for her. Bought it when she got her CCDW and both of us have been very pleased. It's a little pricey, but it has been very reliable, has limited recoil, and is very accurate.... great shooting little gun!

But I agree with the guy who said take her to the range... You no more wanna buy her a gun any more than you wanna buy her shoes....
LCP, S&W BG, Glock 42.... Seen a few women with the Walther PK.380 (9mm size in a .380).... Whatever you get her, get her trained and a great holster.....
And make her carry "Barney" style.... one bullet.

My wife has a ruger LCP .380 and hates it. She is looking for a shield or similar now.

My wife has the S&W M&P Bodyguard for her carry - can't go wrong with that pistol.

I also have the Sig P238 - highly recommend though it is a bit more pricey than the BG.

The right .380 round is fine for self defense situations, i.e., self defense rounds that are available.

People who ***** about .380 seldom line up to get test shot by one.

Also - someone above recommended a revolver - the S&W Lightweight 38 Specials are very nice pistols and easy to carry.

Bottom line as already stated; it is important to let her shoot a few different models and she will be better positioned to make her decision.

I, too, have been looking to buy a handgun. I'd like to have it when traveling or just to keep near the bed. A friend of mind recommended a hammerless .38. He carries it in his pocket and you can't tell it's there.

My main fear about having a loaded gun around the house or on my person is, obviously, the fear of an accident...or my grandkid putting his hands on it. How can you have a gun that is readily accessible and ready to use but at the same time insure your toddler or young kid won't fire it?

Bersa is cheaper than all those brands. I love mine. My old man has a S&W though and it's super slick. If I had the cash on hand that's what I would carry.

Good info. I bought my wife a lightweight .357.

She has only aimed at me twice.

If she is woman enough (video 2) and carries one of those luggage size purses, go with a Desert Eagle or a S&W 500.

On you person or in you car you are obviously the "safety" to not allow someone else access.

In your house there are several inexpensive (`$100) bedside safes that are secure but allow easy access via quick access combo locks.

You are right to always put safety first and it is not that difficult to maintain.
