I am cat fan but I come in peace. Is anyone else as confused as I am about the Net Rankings and the formula? Reason I ask is UK lost to LSU but moved up 1 spot and then last night UL beat Pitt and dropped to 10 spots to #82????

Is this really the main formula that the NCAA selection committee uses? Seems flawed.

Net rankings are about how you play against the level of competition. For some reason, only beating Pitt by 3 at home hurts us. But honestly, we can make up for it with a win tomorrow.

My quick explanation is that the level of parity in college basketball has truly reached it’s pinnacle, and from here on out, the ability to use those calculations for determining any Power Ranking will be as flawed as your example.

Pitt runs as disciplined half court offense as any team in the country, and they are extremely well coached. They have only a very few talented players that can take them to another level …… but they will play most anybody, anywhere close.

It's ridiculous however i read somewhere i beleive it was on SI that if U of L wins vs Fl.st they will gain something like 15-20 in the net. Who knows were they get this math . Although UK lost to LSU and gain a spot SMH. Something is nefarious too say the least.
