I’ve seen a pass off the backboard to a teammate but you are right I never saw a player pass it to himself for the dunk!!

It’s possible he was originally looking for a lob to #11 coming in from the left of the screen. Either way it looks like he’s done that before (In practice 😉)

Seen it happen a few times in NBA. Especially with all the steps they get and how big those guys are - sometimes it looks even like a ho-hum kinda dunk.

But Vince Carter did this in a game way back in the day. Kobe has done it. Lebron. Many others.

Edit: Its way more prevalent than you think. Look up "self pass off backboard" on youtube. Kobe has a 3 min montage of all the different ones he did - some pretty creative stuff.

Agree with OP though, you really don't see it on the college level except occassionally from a teammate, but not sure I've ever seen self. Dope.

The athleticism is what's most impressive. Guys here are talking about Carter, Kobe and Lebron. This kid plays for Purdue Fort Wayne!!!!!

I saw this live at a high school game in about 1992. My school, Highland, vs Camden. Greg Barr scored 94 in the game. His teammate, who had about 35, did this. I this Camden won by about 90. Something like 160-70.
