Who stays on the staff and who leaves? Who will Matt Cambell bring? What’s your guys preferences?
Trust me. You can ask any Buckeye, Sooner or USC Trojan fan. You want to keep Alex Grinch as far away from your program as you possibly can.A home run hire for OC would be Nate Sheelhaase, his former OC at ISU. He’s the passing game coordinator under Sean McVay for the rams. He’s a rising star in the nfl so i doubt he’ll come back to college, but money talks and the chance to call plays again
Heacock is 65 and is said to be near retiring. Alex Grinch is a former teammate of Campbell at Mt Union. Grinch is the defensive coordinator at UCF, shouldn’t be hard to pry away if Campbell wants to go that route
I was just looking at Campbell’s coaching tree. I know nothing about himTrust me. You can ask any Buckeye, Sooner or USC Trojan fan. You want to keep Alex Grinch as far away from your program as you possibly can.
I just saw he is from the same Mount Union tree that Nick Siriani came from.I was just looking at Campbell’s coaching tree. I know nothing about him
Grinch was absolutely horrible at USC. Reports are Heacock is coming but we shall see. Noah Pauley would be a big upgrade at WR.A home run hire for OC would be Nate Sheelhaase, his former OC at ISU. I think it was reported that they were either roommates or teammates.I just saw he is from the same Mount Union tree that Nick Siriani came from.
Heacock would be helpful for recruiting NE Ohio and Western PA. He is a former Youngstown State HC so that area is in his wheelhouse. Both he and Campbell played HS football in NE Ohio.Grinch was absolutely horrible at USC. Reports are Heacock is coming but we shall see. Noah Pauley would be a big upgrade at WR.
Campbell also has had very good tight end play at ISU, and he can sell that he coached Brock Purdy and Breece Hall.Would love their WR coach becatse they’ve churned out some good WRs last few years. We haven’t had a good WR coach or WR in quite awhile
Does that mean they'll opt out of the bowl game?I read he's bringing both his OC and DC. So, that tells me Kotelnicki and Knowles are gone.
Scheelhausse could be interesting pull off the LA RamsKnown out
Chuck Losey - strength

Strong rumor out

Poindexter
Howle
Trautwig
Barnes
Confirmed in:
Terry
Connor
Knowles
Hoodjen
Pauley
Both cyclone ol and dl coaches
ISU strength coach
Rumor: Scheelhausse in as OC
Seen posts where he is in and posts where he might retire .I also thought Heacock the DC of ISU was in. Maybe in a different role?
Heard Heacock was coming but as an advisor, that might open up the dc for Knowles to stay?Grinch was absolutely horrible at USC. Reports are Heacock is coming but we shall see. Noah Pauley would be a big upgrade at WR.

Trautwein needs to go back to Davidson college if they’ll have him. More likely Phillips Exterior AcademyBoth of his coordinators and his D line coach have a long tenure with him, so I'd imagine those guys are the most likely to be following him to PSU. On the PSU side Howle is probably the only must keep on the offensive side, with a maybe for Drayton and Trautwein. Defintely cut Kotelnicki, O'Brein and Hagans loose. Defense is more complicated as Knowles could be great with more time and I believe he had a $3.1M contract guaranteed for 2 years, so he has a big cost to let go for a coordinator. I doubt he has interest in sharing the coordinator role or a demotion though, should Campbell bring Heacock along. Smith is staying, and is probably the most important retention for recruiting purposes along with Howle. Barnes, Dex and Connor are all worth keeping, but I don't think they are a must keep. With two lettermen in the mix it could get messy with far reaction there if Campbell doesn't want them. Dex is probably the best established coach of the 3 so I'd put him atop the keep list, but Connor and Barnes are still young and rising. I don't mean to disparage them, it's just that their lower experience may make them more expendable in Campbell's eyes, but I'd be happy to see either or both stick around as well. Lustig had the special teams unit humming this year, I'd definitely keep him if possible.
No Poindexter? The only must keep, IMO, is Ty Howle. Followed by Deion Barnes, then Dan Connors.
Yeah, and the one big one we had is still causing problems, he and his buddy Nobraino.Heacock's son is also on Iowa State's staff. PSU doesn't need any more nepotism.
The only thing I have against him is he's a sPitter, other than that I'm OK with him.Depending on what Smith’s job is, Hank Poteat could be a good carry over from ISU . Familiarity with Western PA, and Ohio and ten years of NFL experience should get him through the door and into living rooms .

What's Craig Cirbus doing these days....I would be happy with Hank Poteat.
Honestly I’ve never been impressed with Traut as an offensive line coach and I feel like the offensive line play hasnt been good in forever probably since Bill o Brien. I could be just delusional though![]()
Trautwein ??? Nooooo ! Time for a O line coach that can teach the O Line how to RUN BLOCKBoth of his coordinators and his D line coach have a long tenure with him, so I'd imagine those guys are the most likely to be following him to PSU. O’Brien? Weren’t those lines pretty bad? Was he coach when we had Paris Palmer starting at tackle?I would be happy with Hank Poteat.

I think he will be in an Analyst type position as rumors were he was going to retire after this year, but with PSU opportunity he may want to be involved for a couple years and make some $$ and help MC who he has been with a long time.I also thought Heacock the DC of ISU was in. Maybe in a different role?
