Texas has a top 4 class in the country and while its immediate impact is two years away, Coach Herman clearly has this program ascending.
Given the fact that the last 5 OU-Texas games have been nail biters, and given that these 5 games were played by very poor-to-mediocre Texas teams who won two of those games and have outscored OU 150-142 during the past 5 years, Herman's recruiting concerns me. Plus, he's gone into Oklahoma for QB Casey Thompson (son of Charles Thompson) and swayed QB Cameron Rising to defect from his OU commitment.
One huge priority that Texas has addressed is its quarterback situation with Ehlinger and Buechele (if they can ever get 100% healthy).....something that has plagued the UT program since the days of Colt McCoy.
Bottom line: OU needs to finish its 2018 recruiting strong and needs to give recruiting defensive players at least as much importance as offensive players. There's a sleeping giant in Austin.
