Reached the end of my rope with this and basketball officiating (i.e. basically eliminating players like Myles from critical games time and again), so I thought about this for 5 minutes and here goes:
New rule:
FrankZ-1A) No more banishment from the game for 5 or 6 fouls (depending upon College or NBA).
FrankZ-1B) If a player reaches 5 or 6 fouls (depending upon College or NBA), the recipient of the foul gets an automatic 3 FTs.
FrankZ-1C) Technicals, etc. can still carry on as usual (i.e. You get 2, you are done).
Royally had it with this since the Garnett farcical offensive foul in the first half of G7 in 2010 against the Lakers.
