No interest at all......still love the original.......of course my opinion lacks the truckload of hatred some here are showing

My favorite thing the SJWs cried about was the black female wasn't a scientist. It still wasn't good enough that they had changed the whole cast to all females. Nope. Had to find something else to find some oppression.
That was the big topic after the trailer so I decided to look up how many black scientists there were in the U.S. As of 2008, there were 725,000 scientists. Only 500 were black. That's less than one percent.
Yeah it's so outrageous that they stuck to the original concept where Winston wasn't a scientist either.

It is so ridiculous that the black ghostbuster is still just a random person from New York trying to make money. Why not just go all out for political correctness? Does anyone remember "the new ghostbusters" where there was a punk rock girl, a dude in a wheelchair, a black guy, and peter venkman part 2? Why is the ghostbusters this platform for equality?
Anyway, the thing that I hate most about the trailer is the whiteboard math and engineering. I didn't need a smart montage in the original ghostbusters to sell me on the capabilities of Egon and Ray.

I enjoy Melissa McCarthy. If you watch the show Mike & Molly, she plays a very normal and convincing housewife.. a far cry from her other off-the-wall roles most people know her for. Most female comics are straight garbage. The funniest female on earth is still the 1,000th funniest person on Earth.. But MM is pretty solid and has a great range.

People that follow this stuff closer than I do, and I follow it pretty close, have it making a lot more than my number. I could be wrong. I was very wrong on Dead Pool this year and Spectre last year. The Ghostbusters name will bring a lot of people out initially regardless of the cast. A strong opening and falls fast. I'm sticking with it.
If you're talking domestic box office, I think it's a pretty good guess. I'd go towards the high end of your range and say it gets to $200M. Considering a $154M budget, that'll be a disappointment. I have no idea how something like this will play overseas.
I'm going to say it plays poorly over seas. It's going to be a disappointment. When you factor in the price of tickets, the lack of competition that weekend, and the fact that it will be in a lot of 3D/imax theaters, $149 mil isn't that hard to obtain for a summer blockbuster with name recognition.
The original and to a lesser but still entertaining extent the second were a product of a perfect storm. Great cast in their primes, great ad lib, and timely release. You just can't replicate that in a lab. It doesn't matter if it was all girls, all dudes, chicks and dudes, chicks with dicks or even the original cast it has a miniscule chance of being as good as even #2.

It'll flop, but I don't see it at a John Carter or Lone Ranger level as those films had much larger budgets.
