Heading down to Nawlins for several days in October and noticed the festival happens at the same time. Never been to it but I do like blues music and BBQ. Anyone have tips for vendors/restaurants (BBQ) to try? Taj Mahal is the headline act one night, will probably catch him. Several others that I've YouTubed that have possibilities.

Other things to see in NOLA?
-Aquarium?
-Voodoo tours?
-Swamp/plantation tours?
-Superdome?

Don't know any bbq places but the following are great restaurants

Commander's Palace
Broussards
Galatouis
Brennan's
Manalis

There are many, many more fine places to eat

If you're free at the time, Commanders for Friday lunch is an absolute must. It's like 15 bucks plus 10-cent martinis. The food is awesome, but the service and experience is even better. Gotta do it.

WW2 Museum is also a must. You'll need at least 3-4 hours minimum to enjoy it, and make sure to go see one of the movies.

I haven't done a swamp tour but that's gonna take some time. Unsure it's a blast but it's an all day thing.

The Voodoo and graveyard and walking tours are whatever. It's better than just sitting in a bar but don't get your hopes up too much.

Music/nighttime -- Frenchmen street. Every club there is great. It's 1000x cooler than Bourbon St. That's the best music area in the city.

We took a swamp tour a few years back. Doubt it was THEE swamp tour, but fun to see the way folks live in these back waterways & several/plenty of gators.
