I know a lot of people hated the all female ghostbusters that came out in 2016......... but today they are trying to make up for letting the fans down by announcing in 2020 there will be a ghostbusters 3 directed by the son of the original ghostbusters movie Reitman.

Seems like the main characters will probably be the children of the original crew and probably also include at least Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd.

anyone else excited to see this movie? I never really cared too much if they made another sequel until the movie a couple of years ago and now I honestly would rather have something good in the franchise again to wash out the sour taste... I thought the movie was ok but the sour taste is how crazy toxic the fan base of ghostbusters got .....

just in case anyone is interested... here's a minor teaser

Movies have become such **** lately, me and my wife hadn’t been to a movie in 2 years so last weekend we were going to get a babysitter and go to one, and we were both pretty excited about it. Nothing, I mean absolutely nothing looked even mildly entertaining. Are all the original people now just making shows for Netflix/HBO/TV? I mean just pure ****, including this completely unnecessary sequel of a corny 80s movie.

This is how I'm seeing it. I think the whole concept of theater viewing will go out eventually. Why pay a ridiculous amount of money to go out to see something that you can get in your home for a few bucks a month? I was just reading that theaters now make practically nothing from ticket prices due to the costs being passed down. Netflix and HBO have so many customers that they have the deepest pockets now.

This isn't the best time of the year for movie releases. Wait until the Spring and Summer and big movies will start coming out.

I’m with you. Everything is a remake from the 80s, a comic book movie, a Star Wars movie or a pretentious slag of crap made for Oscar voters. It has been a very bad stretch.

This is so true - most everything is total garbage now.

They even ruined Star Wars  Multiple people should be doing hard time in a federal penitentiary for their role in bringing that franchise down.

How many “female empowerment” “girls kick ***” movies have they popped out the last few years? Lol. Seems like a thousand.

I'm intrigued. Something that caught my eye was that the trailer seems like a barn in the country......while all the GB movies were in downtown NYC.

This got me thinking......

In the original movie, Ray put up his "family home" as collateral for starting the Ghostbusters business in the first place. Could Ray have retired and moved out to the country.....back to the home he was born in?

Do you actually have a problem with that? If they're making money and people are going to them, then someone must be doing something right. I'll never understand getting upset about movies. They're not demanding your money, and it's not like a bunch of great films are being left on the cutting floor because there were some female-centered movies in their place.

I’m not upset. Just makes me chuckle and roll my eyes. Watch whatever you want.

All female casts are politically correct now?

Don’t be a SJW and pretend you don’t know.

The new ghostbusters movie was a flop because it was centered around political correctness and feminism. The “death to the ballsack” scene was just by chance I guess.

People don’t want it. Maybe a few weirdos out in California or mentally ill people in New York but the vast majority of the normal country doesn’t want liberalism shoved down their throats when they just want to see a movie. Ghostbusters was ruined by Hollywood the last time, and my point was I hope people support this one to show how sick and tired everyone is of this GDBS.

And it will sell way better than the feminist ghostbusters that I can guarantee you.

But that’s the thing. They’re making movies to push a political agenda and they ARE flopping. Nobody cares about new wave feminism, including more than half of the women in this county. Lol. So stop destroying great movies and ideas with this garbage.

It’s an opinion of many let’s not act like you don’t know what the problem is.

you guys remember the kid in ghostbusters 2 that was at the party in the beginning that told ray that his dad said the ghostbusters were full of crap? thats actually the director for this new movie... and his sister was the girl with the puppies .. I guess Ivan Reitman the director had a thing about putting his children in movies..

The director here also did the movie Juno....... which I thought was pretty good and clever funny

False. Ghostbusters 2 is actually really funny even if the actual plot is too close to the original. Ghostbusters 2's biggest knock is that it isn't the absolute classic the first one is.
Maybe. Until this happened.

How about 4 white guys? You really want to see people rowled up? Cast the original. Watch the real weirdos come out of the woodwork.

Don’t forget to watch blow if you wanna see real ****.

I will not support ghostbusters until it’s Mainly white with a black dude and all male because that’s what ghostbusters is.

If it’s 4 young teens then this is weird. How can you give nuclear packs to 14 year olds? If they change it soon to be 17-19 year olds then I’m ok with it

I can’t even tell if this is real or satire.

Let’s see, they didn’t have kids in Ghostbusters 2 which was in 1989, so let’s say they had kids within the next few years. Those kids would be over 25.

Going with teens is stupid. So no surprise that they’d go the route of kids born in the 2000s. Lol

No it will be the female actresses complaining its sexist when their movie bombs instead of self reflection that their movie sucks ***. Guarantee the chick Ghostbusters complain.

It's weird when they have these complaints but overlook things like Wonder Woman.

It would help with audience demographics. Getting the 35-50 year olds to go watch it in theaters should be fairly easy since they grew up watching the originals. Making the movie centered around teenagers might help capture the kids of the 35-50 year olds.

It also could be interesting to see the technology. Can you imagine old Ray sitting on the rocking chair on his front porch, “Back in my day all we had was a proton pack and the man next to ya.....and you know how Uncle Venkman can be.....you kids don’t know what pressure is....”

What drives me nuts about the feminist ******** is create your own thing. Quit trying to change or latch on to something that’s already established.

“Let’s change Star Wars!”
“Let’s change Ghostbusters!”
“Let’s change Ocean’s 11.”
“Let’s change Lord of the Flies.”
“Let’s make Terminator all female.”

Then if it bombs, blame sexism. If something like Star Wars succeeds, credit “women” and ignore that fanboys would watch a giant turd for two hours if it had a lightsaber.

Here are some movies with a male cast and similar movies with female cast versions. These are worldwide numbers and I didn't adjust for inflation or it would be an even bigger difference for some.

Barber Shop $77 million
Beauty Shop $37 million

The Hangover $468 million
Bridesmaids $288 million

Ghostbusters $295 million
Ghostbusters (remake) $229 million

Ocean's 11 $450 million
Ocean's 8 $297 million

The Karate Kid $91 million
The Next Karate Kid $16 million

Now you see a good reason to not do female versions of successful male versions of movies.

Saw that 2 lost $70m. Lesli Jones is mad about 3

Leslie Jones Slams New 'Ghostbusters' Film: "It's Like Something Trump Would Do"

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/h...rs-film-like-something-trump-would-do-1177578

Going off about something when you haven’t thought it through.....only to find out that your comment is 100% selfish.....is a Trump thing to do as well.

Ms Jones made a comment that the new movie is going to ignore GB3......yet, GB3 is a direct rip off of GB1 which ignores the original. She made a comment that it’s going back to being all about the men......yet, it’s going to be 2 male, 2 female. So, in the end she’s just pissed that she hasn’t been asked to be in it.
